TROJAN: The Tempest Files Book One Kindle Edition
His first line of code could destroy their last line of defense…
Cyber security specialist Carter’s reputation is at stake. A rogue hacker known only as Trojan has infiltrated his biggest client: the FBI. When all signs point to an even more insidious attack in the works, the agency sends in one of their own… and her inexperience could endanger the entire operation.
Rookie FBI agent Alex Pearce has something to prove. Perhaps she’s not the best choice for the case, though she’d never admit it aloud. And that’s not the only secret she’s keeping from her new coworkers…
On the hunt for clues, the team must uncover Trojan’s true identity before like-minded radicals reach him first. If they lose, they’ll have no choice but to unleash a last-ditch failsafe with the power to unplug the world…
With suspicions on the rise, can Carter and Agent Pearce decrypt the criminal’s deadly game before cyberspace goes dark?
Trojan is the first book in an edge-of-your-seat techno-thriller series. If you like high-stakes crime stories, complex characters, and twists you won’t see coming, then you’ll love Craig Anderson’s pulse-pounding novel.

About the author

Craig Anderson can't stand writing about himself in the third person. I’ve been calling myself a writer for years, but most of my time spent writing is on a really long novel that no-one except me has read. I’m still not happy with it, and wonder if I ever will be.
I primarily write novellas because my house is too chaotic to get enough time to write 70k words! I love the shorter form books and the ability to capture a persons imagination and tell an interesting story that can be read in an afternoon.
I’m a Brit that lives in Canada, and I moved here via Australia, so no matter where I go people hear my bizarre accent and ask me where I am from. I have a beautiful wife, two kids under 3, two cats called Sydney & Mel, and a Brittany Spaniel called Jasper. Our house constantly looks like a tornado just passed through!

Pro’s: enjoyable reading and a decently thought out plot, with some nice twists.
Con’s: Lacks some character development, you don’t get to really know the characters that well or learn much beyond surface level stuff. But as the book leaves you on a bit of a cliff hanger I assume we might get to know them better in future books!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2020Pretty good story. Only complaint is the foreshadowing was a bit heavy. I prefer the "twist" to be more of a surprise... breadcrumbs, not loaves, if you get my meaning.
Look forward to more!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2018What a fun premise! I really enjoyed the hacker / cyber-thriller feel, but a few things really didn’t click with me as a reader. Firstly, the romantic relationship was so forced and one-dimensional that it got in the way of the story. Secondly, a good line editor needs to work through the manuscript before Trojan is ready for publication. There were mistakes galore, and huge swaths of the writing just fell incredibly flat and really took away from the great thriller atmosphere the plot tried so hard to establish.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2018Twists and turns you mostly won't see coming. I don't often review books but this one is just too good not to.
Its an action packed adventure from start to finish with the potential for a long and enjoyable series. The technical terminology is mostly spot on and i can tell the author has put a lot of research into those aspects of it.
Cant wait for the next book
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2019The majority of the technical details are dead-on accurate or at least believable, coming from a tech professional. Fantastic twists and surprisingly satisfying ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
I read, "Level Up" and really liked it. But, "Trojan" was a brilliant read. I recommend it to anyone who even has a passing interest in computers or a story with a twist at the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite The Cinematic Feel
People typing away on PC keyboards while staring at monitors should be boring, right?
Well in cyber thriller TROJAN, things move at a slightly faster pace.
The story of anti-hacking agency, Tempest, and the hacker that wants to piss them off, TROJAN manages to come across a little like 90's Trek where jargon and techno-babble are thrown about with wild abandon, making the 'action' of hacking come across more exciting than it should. With fast cars, guns, and explosions chucked in, it's got quiet the cinematic feel to it.
The plot moves at a nice pace, with twists and turn a plenty. There are, however, a few things holding the book back.
It's confusing who the main character is as several characters all have their point of view. Sometimes this even occurs mid chapter. There are also a few things that get explained in too much detail, instead of letting the reader work things out. And two characters early on lay down an info dump each way as they ask each other about their backgrounds, where looser, more relaxed dialogue would have been better.
But these are technical errors, and the story itself has me wanting to know what happens next (this being book one in THE TEMPEST FILES). As the story was wrapped up, and the loose ends were passed before the reader as a reminder that there's more to come, I could almost here the closing credits music stir.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to book two
I enjoy this author's style of writing. This set in the world of computers & hackers and is an enjoyable romp. Some of the characters are larger than life and the story kept me guessing, with some good plots twists.
Will read more by this author and would welcome a book two.
