    I’m not new to m/m relationships in books, but Try by Ella Frank is the first book I’ve read where the story revolved around two men. I definitely wasn’t disappointed with this first foray into an m/m book. From the very first page to the semi-cliffhanger in the end, I was thoroughly absorbed in the story. At its heart, the book was a great story of meeting that certain person that turns your whole world upside down and brings you to life in a way you didn’t think possible. And whether it involves a heterosexual or homosexual couple, I’m always interested in reading a story such as that.

    I have to give it to Frank’s writing. I really enjoyed how well put together the story was. Not only was the story well-written and at a good pace, she did a great job bringing forth the energy that was exuded from Logan and his interactions with Tate. I could really feel not only their lust for each other, but the intensity and passion they had for each other both in and out of the bedroom. I also appreciated the time that Frank took in developing Logan’s and Tate’s relationship, especially when you have to factor in Tate’s confusion and uncertainty in his feelings for a man considering he’s thought of himself as straight all his life. It was good to read Tate’s evolution from confused and denying to open acceptance of his feelings towards Logan. It made it very easy for me to believe in what they have together. Their dialogues and interactions really showed the great chemistry between them. I enjoyed each meeting as the tension rises until it’s finally consummated which just made those scenes even more intense and that much more enjoyable. Speaking of which, Frank did such a good job with those sex scenes. There was something about them that kept me glued to the pages, not wanting to stop reading. Like Logan, it weaved its spell where I was entranced where even just their kisses were very intense. And when you can write kissing scenes that are very impassioned, you know you are in for a treat.

    Speaking for myself, I thought Logan really made the book for me. He had a charismatic presence where you believed that he could have anyone that he wanted. It was so entertaining reading his pursuit of Tate and all the one-liners he dishes out. He had a good balance of arrogance, intellect, humor and sexual energy which made him so likeable and the ability to carry the story. Unlike Logan, whose personality is very open and in your face, Tate’s is more subtle and can take you by surprise depending on the situation. So Tate is a perfect foil to Logan. Tate can also match Logan in passion and go toe-to-toe in his teasing and flirtation. Through all the haze of their sexual energy, I appreciate those moments of vulnerability where their relationship is concerned. You can see that these two men genuinely care about each other and have their own fears concerning their status. It’s these moments that show you how it doesn’t matter your sexual orientation, in the end you want to be with that certain someone and don’t want to get hurt in the process.

    Considering Try is my first m/m book, I think it’s safe to say that I had a really good experience. I was enthralled in reading Tate’s foray into the unknown that is Logan. The book had a little bit of everything: drama, humor, heart, hot guys and of course steamy sex. Frank combined all of these details with her great writing to create a very entertaining book. This book may not be for everyone, but like Tate, I am very glad that I gave Try a try…*sheepishly smiles through the groans* yes I know, but I couldn’t help myself.

    This is a 6 book CONSECUTIVE series. All books are fairly short (300ish pages) and follow the same couple. There is a large time jump in the middle of the series that sort of splits their relationship into parts; the getting awakening/start/committing to each other phase and then the making the relationship survive in the real world phase. All books are on KU as are the first 3 audios.

    Ok now that that's out of the way..im convinced Ella Frank can do no wrong. She got me to read a 6 MFing book series about the same couple and I couldn't get enough. I had to actively refrain from immediately going into the spin off series. Her writing is passionate and descriptive and you can FEEL their chemistry and love oozing off the pages.

    Tate and Logan were nothing short of epic. Logan is a hot shot bi playboy lawyer and Tate is the "straight" bad boy bartender with a salty attitude and impending divorce. Their initial meetings are perfection; the banter, the denial, the sass 👨‍🍳💋 and all the "awakening" spice scenes 🥵🥵🥵. AND THEN when they finally are together the spice DOESNT STOP and you add in the obsessive passion for each other and its just 🔥🔥🔥.

    Aside from loving their insane horny "can't keep our hands off each other vibes" I also loved how real they felt. Their conflicts were super realistic, sometimes from outside sources and sometimes between themselves. They have ALOT to work through and it never felt forced or fake.

    The ending was 🥺🥺🥺 and seeing them finally get exactly what they wanted for a HEA was so satisfying. Honestly this review barely touches on doing this series justice. I wasn't so sure at the beginning but it's definitely one that's going to stick with me for a long time.

    The seduction of a straight guy by a potent, masculine gay man...what isn't to like about this? Logan is devastating in his confident sexiness. Watching him fight to get the equally strong Tate is breathtaking. The confusion, frustration, anger and excitement are palpable. The switching of points of view gives the reader a deep understanding of the emotional state of both men and the demons they are both battling to make this relationship work. The blend of steamy intimacy into the narrative is achieved to perfection. Let's just say that I'm hooked. I can't wait to read the rest!

    This is the first book in the series and I urge everyone to read all 6 books. I loved the progression of Tate and Logan’s relationship and how each book carried them forward through their relationship and life. I loved the dual point of view to see inside the mind of each man. I was never bored through all 6 books. It was so refreshing to read a story where the main couple actually communicates and works to resolve issues. And the spice! Oh my. The spice was amazing and never felt like filler. They are crazy for each other so of course it’s spicy! This story is about so many things - love, sex, patience, trust, family. This series has my whole heart!

    Dejo mi opinión en el tomo 1 pero aclaro que va completa respecto del total de la serie porque, actualmente, he leído los 6 tomos que componen esta historia M/M entre un personaje heterosexual y uno bisexual.

    No sé cómo describirla mejor para hacerle justicia sino con el título que le he dado "torrente de emociones".
    Inesperadamente adictiva desde la primera hoja. Cuando algo lleva el sello "romántico" suelo descartarlo porque (para gustos paletas de color...) me suelen parecer una ñoñez, hay excepciones claro, sin embargo esta serie le ha dado un giro completo a esa noción.

    Llegando al tomo 6 no podía creerme la tristeza de decir adiós a estos dos maravillosos personajes, Logan Mitchell y Tate Morrison. Ella Frank confiesa no haber podido escribir un epílogo porque no se veía capaz de dejarlos atrás.
    Me ha sorprendido la capacidad de desarrollo de la autora para lograr que, literalmente, me haya enamorado de ambos a través de los distintos escenarios y momentos que van surgiendo. Logra involucrarme emocionalmente al hacerme testigo de cómo un profundo flechazo puede resultar en la pureza del amor sin más (no cabe el género sí el sentimiento).

    Cada personaje está definido por una gran profundidad de carácter y personalidad arrolladora. El escenario se sitúa en un tiempo actual, moderno, un ambiente que tiende al glamour y a la sofisticación no dejando de lado la naturalidad y honestidad que ambos atesoran en su interior como contraste.

    Añado como curiosidad, al buscar más obras de ella, que otras series publicadas son spin-off de esta: "Confessions", "Sunset Cove"..., etc. Lo dejo caer por si la obra os ha atrapado como a mí, os han enganchado los personajes secundarios y queréis saber más... ¡¡porque hay más!!

    英語圏ＢＬで一番のお気に入りシリーズがこれ。カップルで一番好きなのはMary Calmesの『A Matter of Time』に出てくるサムとジョリーだが、この『Try』シリーズのローガンとテイトも同じくらい大好き。その上、ストーリーはこちらの方が上手い。

    ローガンは男女問わず狙ったものは必ず手に入れるスーパープレイボーイ。ハンサムで頭がよく、弁護士という職業柄口も上手い。これまでに落ちない相手はいなかった。そんなローガンが次に目を付けたのが、行きつけのバーのバーテンダーのテイト。テイトも負けず劣らずイケメンで、真面目で爽やかな好青年。テイトは自分はストレートだとはっきりと断る。手強い相手は余計に手に入れたくなるローガンは根気強く駆け引きを続ける。テイトを落とそうと必死になる内に、いつの間にか恋に落ちていたのは自分の方だった。

    この3部作で一番興奮するのは1巻のバーでの駆け引きだと思う。今まで色んな相手に使ってきたであろう手練手管を持ってしてもテイトは中々落ちない。最初は遊びのつもりのローガンがどんどん本気になってどっぷりとハマっていく姿に読んでいるこちらものめり込んでいく。テイトもローガンの真剣な姿に次第に絆されていく。最初に二人がキスするシーンは私はローガンにどっぷり感情移入していて思わずガッツポーズ。このシリーズの素晴らしいところは、二人の絆が強くなっていく様子が丁寧に書かれているところ。これまで真剣な恋愛をしてこなかったローガンと、ローガンに出会うまでストレートとして生きていたテイトの関係は本人たちも周りの人間にとっても一筋縄ではいかない。「お互い愛していれば他は関係ない」という綺麗ごとは通用しないということをしっかり書かれている。その中でもテイトと家族の軋轢は読んでいて涙が出るほど心を痛めた。テイトの両親は敬虔なクリスチャンで「同性愛＝罪」と思い続けているのでいくら愛する息子でも受け入れることはできない。特に母親の拒絶反応は凄まじく、このシリーズの中では最後まで解決できなかった。でもそこは英語圏BLによくあるような「ゲイ＝勘当」または「カミングアウトで大団円」のように単純には書かれていない。両方の葛藤がしっかり書かれているので、それでもテイトがローガンを選んだ時の感動が引き立つ。そして、3巻でテイトは事故に遭い、ローガンは愛する人を失うかもしれない恐怖を味わう。そばにいたいのに「家族ではない」という理由で病院から会わせてもらえないローガン。テイトを失うかもしれない悲しみと、テイトを誰よりも愛しているのにそばにいられない悲しみでローガンは打ちひしがれる。それでも二人の愛の力は大きく、周りの人の心をも動かしていく。最後の最後まで上手い。

    付き合うまでのドキドキ、自分との葛藤（二人とも）、蜜月、家族との衝突、安定した生活後のテイトの事故…と3部作の中で無駄な場面は1つもない。読んでいて苦しくなることも結構あるけど、二人の困難の後には必ず救いがあり読後は爽やか。私はこのシリーズでエラさん（作者）の大ファンになり、その後もエラさんの本をずっと読み続けているが、これほど完璧な作品はない。というか、これ以外はあまり…。この二人の続編を読みたいとずっと思っていて、念願適ってシリーズの続編が書かれているが、「これなら3部作で終わっていたほうが良かった」と思ってしまうほど微妙。このシリーズのファンとしてはとても悲しい状況だ。それでもこの『Try』シリーズは紛れもない傑作。まだ読んでない方はぜひぜひ読んで下さい。
