Choosing to move to Occident to be with Erik wasn't a hard choice for Sam. He'd loved him nearly as soon as he saw him but spending time with Erik's friends is something Sam is still adjusting to.

    Try to Remember by BL Maxwell is a holiday story set in their hypothetical small town Occident. While I don't normally start thinking about Christmas on a 90+ degree day in September, it was a fun read anyway. This is one of those stories where having read the other tales set in Occident is a must. The short story focuses on Erik and Sam, who star in Try to Forget. It gives the reader an update on their relationship in a holiday setting. I’m ambivalent about white elephant gift exchanges, but the author made it an entertaining event. I had no idea what the gift would be, but the title fits the gift well (not much of a spoiler). It’s always fun to see characters from previous books in a new setting. And I loved the ending to the story. I received a free ARC from the author and I am leaving this review voluntarily
