Twisted Lives: A heart-pounding thrill ride with covert adventures and a jaw-dropping twist Kindle Edition
Imagine The Fugitive meets Presumed Innocent.
It happens more than you might think.
One second someone’s life is totally typical,
the next it’s terribly tragic.
Everything they had,
everything they planned,
everything they were,
all of it vanishes in a flash.
Shock and sorrow leave the victim staring into tomorrow’s void, wondering: How it happened? Who did it? And why?
What would you do if you woke to find that someone had framed you for a horrible crime and the police were at your door? What if the evidence were so compelling that even you had doubts? Would you collapse? Surrender? Question your sanity? Or would you do whatever it takes to save your family?
Inspired by a true story.

About the author

International Bestselling Author Tim Tigner began his career in Soviet Counterintelligence with the US Army Special Forces, the Green Berets. That was back in the Cold War days when, "We learned Russian so you didn't have to," something he did at the Presidio of Monterey alongside Recon Marines and Navy SEALs.
With the fall of the Berlin Wall, Tim switched from espionage to arbitrage. Armed with a Wharton MBA rather than a Colt M16, he moved to Moscow in the midst of Perestroika. There, he led prominent multinational medical companies, worked with cosmonauts on the MIR Space Station (from Earth, alas), chaired the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, and helped write Russia's first law on healthcare.
Moving to Brussels during the formation of the EU, Tim ran Europe, Middle East, and Africa for a Johnson & Johnson company and traveled like a character in a Robert Ludlum novel. He eventually landed in Silicon Valley, where he launched new medical technologies as a startup CEO.
In his free time, Tim has climbed the peaks of Mount Olympus, hang glided from the cliffs of Rio de Janeiro, and ballooned over Belgium. He earned scuba certification in Turkey, learned to ski in Slovenia, and ran the Serengeti with a Maasai warrior. He acted on stage in Portugal, taught negotiations in Germany, and chaired a healthcare conference in Holland. Tim studied psychology in France, radiology in England, and philosophy in Greece. He has enjoyed ballet at the Bolshoi, the opera on Lake Como, and the symphony in Vienna. He's been a marathoner, paratrooper, triathlete, and yogi.
Intent on combining his creativity with his experience, Tim began writing thrillers in 1996 from an apartment overlooking Moscow's Gorky Park. Twenty years later, his passion for creative writing continues to grow every day. His home office now overlooks a vineyard in Northern California.
Tim grew up in the Midwest, and graduated from Hanover College in 1990 with a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics. After military service and work as a financial analyst and foreign-exchange trader, he earned an MBA in Finance and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton and Lauder schools on a full-ride scholarship.
Thank you for taking the time to read about the author. Tim is most grateful for his loyal fans, and loves to correspond with readers like you. You are welcome to reach him through his website timtigner.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2025Tim Tigner has done it again with Twisted Lives! From the first page to the last, this book had me hooked, delivering a masterclass in suspense, intrigue, and heart-pounding action. Tigner weaves a tightly knit plot with unforgettable characters, making this a must-read for fans of high-stakes thrillers.
The story unfolds at a relentless pace, with every chapter ending on a note that makes you say, “Just one more.” Tigner’s ability to craft unpredictable twists is unparalleled—just when you think you’ve figured it out, he pulls the rug out from under you in the best way possible.
What truly sets Twisted Lives apart is how it balances action with depth. The characters are more than just players in a suspenseful game—they’re complex, relatable, and so well-developed that you feel their triumphs and struggles alongside them. The stakes are personal—in a very real sense—as well as global, giving the book emotional weight that lingers long after the final page.
If you’re a fan of Tigner’s previous works or simply love a great thriller, Twisted Lives is a must-read. It’s sharp, intelligent, and utterly unputdownable. Tim Tigner proves once again why he’s a master of the genre. Highly recommended!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2025As a longtime follower of the author I was surprised to find this book which was not a spy or military based novel. I quickly snatched it up and began reading.
The beginning of the book is interesting with several twists and turns which reenforce the title. These surprises didn't compare to the ending. I was completely taken off guard. You don't have to be a Tim Tigner fan to enjoy this book. If you love a good story with lots of surprises pick this one up.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2025I really enjoyed reading this book. The main character, Felix Sparks, was very likable and even though he seemed superhuman at times, it was exciting. Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, they did. But there was always a way out.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2024If you are a Tim Tigner usual fan, then this book is not for you. It’s an interesting read- but nothing like his previous novels which I highly recommend. I suspect it would make a good movie, but I would prefer to have the previous TT back!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2024This story really has more twists and turns than a dog’s hind leg. It starts out sweetly enough, but then turns as deadly as a vipers bite. As usual with his prior novels, the characters are well drawn and expertly developed. The pacing is taut as the story reaches it’s surprising climax. This is a thoroughly enjoyable read.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2024Felix Sparks wakes up to find his wife strangled to death while sleeping next to him. Not knowing how it could have happened and understanding he will be charged with her murder, Felix sets about to evade arrest and find the killer. His search leads him half way around the world to China and Russia as well as dealing with the Russian mafia in the US.
After a bit of a slow start the suspense builds. Felix is amazingly resourceful in dealing with the mysteries, evil characters and obstacles put in his way. As the title warns us the plot contains many twists and surprises, all of which make for a good read. Though I gave this book five stars it's not quite up to the usual high standards we have come to expect from this author. In the Author's Note we are told the plot is based on a true story that actually happened to him and his family. That makes the book all the more remarkable.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best thrillers you'll ever read
As thrillers go, it doesn't get better than this. Unpredictable, thrill-a-minute plot twists and taut, absolutely taut writing. Tim Tigner's writing is a class apart! Loved it! For those who love thrillers. And for those who don't.

5.0 out of 5 stars I never award 5 stars...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced mystery
I liked how this was based on different cultures and how people in high powered careers can get so caught up to the cost of family life. Great read despite the parts where it seemed like a James Bond adventure as they added to the whole storyline. A bit of a slow burner but it sure does speed up, very happy to recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great thriller
A fast paced thriller and a very unique storyline.
