The Vampire's Delicious Fae (Brinnswick: Tales From Gauhala Book 2) Kindle Edition
I hate vampires. Well, just one in particular. But I do kinda love how his eyes follow me whenever he’s around… Sigh.
Step One: Find a hot vampire. Check.
Step Two: Get the hot vamp to drink from me. Check.
Step Three: Try to forget his stupid face. Ugh. This one’s impossible to check. F my life. Sigh.
Anton is beyond frustrating. He was so sweet when we first met, and I’d thought we had a real connection. But then he had to ruin everything with his big mouth and jerky face. Ugh.
I can’t get him out of my head. Even when I’m beyond angry at him, I still feel a pull to be near him. A pull I can’t seem to ignore.
And when my entire world gets turned upside-down, I can’t help but reach for the ancient vampire and hope that together, we can conquer anything that’s thrown at us… anything that’s coming for us.
The Vampire’s Delicious Fae is Book 2 of the MM urban fantasy series, Brinnswick: Tales From Gauhala. It follows a new couple in each book with a guaranteed HEA. It takes place in the Brinnswick world in the far away country of Gauhala and brings a whole new cast of characters, so you don’t need to read the other series first. But don't worry, there will absolutely be some cameos along the way.

About the author

Michele is married to an awesome guy that puts up with her and all the burnt dinners she makes—hey, sometimes characters are a bit distracting, and who doesn’t plot when they’re supposed to be cooking? They live together in Baltimore, Maryland with two little monsters, a three-legged princess, a four-legged goofball, and a cutie with giant ears (aka their two kids, their two cats, and their dog). She hopes to rescue another cat soon, and if her hubby wouldn’t kill her, she’d get more than one… and maybe a few more dogs as well.
She loves creating worlds filled with lots of love, chosen family, and of course, magic, but she also likes making the characters fight for that happy ending. She hopes to one day write all the stories in her head—even if there are too many to count!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOmg this series just keeps getting better.
I will say a CW should be a part of this:
~There is graphic talk about older kids dying. There is also a fade to black scene that involves a side character who is a teen who is being horridly abused. And the near death of an older kid. ~
As for the book. This was a freaking amazing book if you love the emotional side of things. Gosh this couple once they got past their miss communication was absolutely sweet with each other. This is what I want to see with fated pairs. Actually being there when the world is crashing down around them. That whole part with Jed and what happened after was EVERYTHING!!! Broke me then put me back together in the best ways.
K may be Fae but don’t count him out and don’t mess with his kids.
The writing was amazing as always with this author, if you want a spicy driven fated story this isn’t it. They do have an amazing spicy time but this is more relationship driven than spicy driven. I can’t wait for the next book. Been wanting that story since the first book.
For future me:
Dual POV
No cheating/sharing
No OM/OW
not sure about the roles, but spice not much spice

- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really liked this book. 4 star for rating, 2.5 for spice. I’m so glad Anton and Ker finally get their HEA, the discord whenever the friends and family got together was so mysterious. And now they have a giant family and it’s so heart warming.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnton and Keryth were so good together! Anton is an old vampire who made a mistake years ago with Keryth. Ker can’t understand why he’s so drawn to the infuriating vampire.
This was another wonderful story in the series. I’m hoping there will be more! Highly Recommended
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI've read all the books in this series. This one was another well written story. I've been waiting for this coupling and happy that the wait was worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt is definitely a slow/low burn. Especially when you factor in the two and a half years they didn’t speak to each other. A great happily ever after.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother sweet and yet still slightly angsty story from Michele Notaro!! Anton and Keryn’s story was long awaited and so worth it. I absolutely adored all the cameos.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2025Format: KindleI've been looking forward to Anton and Ker's story since Bel's book, and their journey was every bit as magical as I was hoping it'd be. From the reveal of their disastrous first encounter that left Ker hating Anton for years to the terrifying events that brought them back into each other's orbits again, I was deeply invested in seeing where their relationship would go. Anton's strong feelings for Ker hadn't wavered since their first date, and I could sense how deeply sad he was for having wronged Ker. Ker, in contrast, had spent years avoiding and telling himself he hated Anton while never quite being able to get him out of his head. I was thrilled to see them reconcile, and it warmed my heart to see them move forward from their shared past and bring their families together. Because of the threats they were up against, their shared family spent a ton of time in close proximity, bonding and forming inside jokes and supporting each other. I had so much fun getting to know the girls and all of Anton's fledglings, and I loved how central they were to the main storylines. Some of the events in this book went to dark, heartbreaking places, but for every ounce of pain there was at least twice the love and healing to go alongside it. Tray in particular was a character who captured my heart, and his story still makes me ache when I think about all he went through. Anton and Ker had to fight hard to keep their loved ones safe, and they proved time and time again that they would do whatever it took to protect the ones who mattered most to them. Between big fight scenes, family time, strategizing, and quieter moments of connection-building at home, the character-driven aspects of the story kept pace nicely with the advancing plotline. I adored each and every one of the characters I got to know in this book, fell in love with Ker and Anton's romance, and rooted hard for them to get justice against their enemies. The ending was a satisfying resolution to the main threat they were up against, tied things up nicely with their relationship and families, but still left room for some side characters to tell their own stories someday. All in all, I really enjoyed this book and thought it was an engaging addition to the universe I've grown to love so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars More tales from Gauhala:Anton and Keryth
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMichele Notaro continues her tales in her Brinnswick world with this story about an ancient vampire named Anton and the fae Keryth.
The feels are strong in this one as Keryth’s mom died and he has been raising his sisters ever since and the two main characters had a big misunderstanding a couple of years back. As amazing as Ms Notaro’s world building always is she also excels at making characters that are interesting whether they are good or bad. This book has lots of great characters both new and ones from other books set in this world as well as some unique pets and some rather cool plants. Of course there is found family which also shows up a lot in her writing and this family ends up a bit like a supernatural Brady Bunch by the end of the book.
I always start one of Ms. Notaro’s books with the intention of reading slowly and savoring it and I always end up devouring it quickly because I enjoy them so much. Maybe I can go slow if I read it again? Nah!

4.0 out of 5 stars Return to Gauhala
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseFor readers new to this author, I'd say it's not necessary to read the whole Brinnswick back catalogue (although it's brilliant and highly recommended), but I'd definitely read the first Gauhala book before diving in here.
We've met our MCs, Anton (ancient vampire and book store owner) and Keryth (nature Fae), before. They're introduced in the series prequel and appear as side characters in book one in the Brinnswick: Tales From Gauhala series where we see one really, REALLY does not like the other.
In this (for good reason) slowest of slow burns we learn why there was such antagonism initially and why it took so long to resolve (two years have passed between the incident that started everything and the present) as well as the family histories of both main characters which have a significant impact on their behaviours.
However, as viramores (fated mates in this universe) their trajectory towards an HEA is inevitable despite being fraught with danger and violence. There's a new gang of bad guys out there and Anton, Ker and their family are in their sights.
Solid storyline plus great relationship building - not just between the MCs but also with Anton's children and Keryth's kids - and a few cameos from characters in book one as well as our favourite Brunswick Sage all make for very entertaining reading. Already looking forward to the next one.

4.0 out of 5 stars A vampire who’s been waiting for a very long time… and one stubborn fae
Format: KindleVerified Purchase4.25/5 It was fun to go back to Guahala and see Keryth and Anton finally sort themselves out. I thought their misunderstanding was pretty believable given the situation. I felt bad for both of them. And it’s always been clear Keryth is stubborn!
I love Anton’s (made) family. It was awesome getting to know all of them and see how they welcomed Ker and the kids into the fold. I was glad to see things resolve overall in the book, because what happened to Trey made me really mad! I hope the next book wraps things up more. (Although maybe that’s for the spin-off. Hoping they all get books!)
Anton and Keryth are very sweet together, and I love the affection and acceptance between them, as well as their protectiveness towards one another and their family. It was awesome to see more about both vampire and fae abilities (and learn some of the things very old vampires can do now that we’ve finally learned how old Anton is, lol).
I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.
