Vanessa: A Mrs Middleton Novel (The Mrs Middleton Series Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 538 ratings

They are made for each other. But can their love survive the ultimate test?

After her white-roses-and-sunflowers wedding, Vanessa is living a dream. Her cold, lonely house finally feels like a home. She has her beautiful Emma to love for the rest of her life, plus a daughter and a grandchild to grow old with. What could go wrong?

Plenty, her persistent insecurities whisper.

Emma’s dedication to teaching keeps her busy, but with Mistress’s guidance after their recent trip to LA, Vanessa quells those once incessant inner voices with plenty of delicious sex. The passion is even hotter, and maybe, if Vanessa delicately pulls a string or two, Emma may never be too far from her again.

Yes, life is—finally—just about perfect.

Then one tiny bump under her fingertips brings all Vanessa’s anxieties roaring to the surface. And as she and Emma navigate perilous emotional waters, Vanessa fears her fate is sealed—and she is destined to lose everything. Including Emma.

Note: Vanessa is the final book in the series that begins with Mrs. Middleton and continues with Teach Me.

I love Emma and Vanessa's relationship so much. With the love and support they have for one another, along with that of their family and friends, there's nothing they can't get through. This book proved just that. It really tugs on the heartstrings as Vanessa's scare, her ultimate decision, and the subsequent aftermath of that decision truly tests the unyielding strength of hers and Emma's marriage.

This continuing story of Vanessa and Emma was all consuming for me. I loved it beyond measure! Their beautiful love story is severely threatened when Vanessa decides to have her breasts removed. This was done to provide hope for her future health. Emma was very understanding and supportive. Fear of the unknown can freeze the heart and allow emotions to run amok. Both women had that fear to a degree, but Emma took the brutal brunt of Vanessa's emotional state. This story is such a masterful weaving of words that it ended being a most beautiful and perfect masterpiece. The author confirmed that true love really can conquer anything. Thank you once again, Melissa, for this rare gift of perfection in a book.

"Vanessa" moved me on many levels. My family has been faced with breast cancer twice so far. One cancer free after 20+ years and another who didn't survive. Vanessa and Emma's struggles, as individuals and a couple, reminded me of the necessity of communicating honestly when going through devastating events. The importance of a supportive community popped for me as well. We don't have to deal with seemingly overwhelming emotions alone. Thank you, Melissa Tereze, for the reminder to do prevention. Well done.

There are not enough stars in the universe to award Melissa Tereze...She has given readers a brilliant story with this book in this series. The two previous novels were just as good and flowed into this latest one flawlessly. From beginning to end it’s definitely an emotional roller coaster of a ride with these two. Meaning, this is a story of searching for what is important after a life changing event. Finding meaning, love and forgiveness with the one most important person in your life. Venessa and Emma our defiantly one of my favorite characters written by this author. How she pushes and pulled these two together is well written for this story. It is also a story about finding where you belong, and where your home and heart is. Bravo and well done! 5⭐️

I don't even know how to explain this book. It is everything. Emma and Vanessa are everything. They are love, sexiness personified, passion, tension, pain, anger, despair, lonely and inextricably bound beyond measure. These ladies suffer deeply and love passionately. My emotions traveled like a yo-yo as the book progressed. Melissa Tereze has written an extraordinary book. From Mrs. Middleton to Teach Me to Vanessa she takes the reader on an amazing journey. The development of the characters, their faults and attributes, is beautifully depicted in scintillating thoughts and gripping dialog. Simply put it is an exceptional book you should absolutely read.

I really enjoyed the first book, Mrs. Middleton and the second wasn't bad, but I really struggled to finish this one.

I felt like it could have ended 200 pages ago. The back and forth was a lot. I thought Vanessa and Emma were fine, but then it would take a turn again and just go over the same stuff. Then adding the useless ex husband ugh.. Richard and how Lauren acted as well. Hot and cold. It definitely wasn't my favorite book.

4.0 out of 5 stars "But I'm not afraid, I know who I married Just let me stay here by your side That would be enough"

One of those books very easy to recommend.
Mrs. Middleton is a must read before this one though.

Okay, it was a sheetty move of Melissa dropping "Vanessa" a week before I take an important exam. How a person is suppose to study when their brain keeps telling them of the good stuff waiting in their Kindle? TSC TSC TSC

This is one of my favourite tropes, established couples having to do more than talk the talk to keep things from derailing, and that's definitely what I got here. Things got shaky after some news and the couple had to do some massive effort to stay together. The events of this book are life changing and IMHO Melissa did a great job showing the ups and downs, the emotions they had to go through, in a very sensible way. I only hope I never get to experience it, at all.

So I loved that Emma and Vanessa walked the walk. It was not easy and I'm glad they had some support in friends too, it definitely helped things out.

But Imma say, I'm really mad at Richard, because he made me quite annoyed with Vanessa at some point, she being quite repetitive with some really annoying thoughts. The man did quite a number on her and yeah, even though she was the one saying some not so nice stuff, I know it came from wounds that were too deep and not properly healed and they were inflicted by this wanquer. I hate him!

Anyway, everyone and their mother keep saying therapy is healing, that it works, so I think Vanessa could've used the help of a professional in addition to madam before now, because like I said, sometimes wounds, insecurities run too deep to really heal by themselves. And this also applies to Emma, sometimes her worries, IMO, were unfounded and things escalated unnecessarily, adding to a situation that wasn't great already. I'm just glad they ultimately got it together and can enjoy their life together in peace.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we still got the steamy we all love. Unlike my food, I like my books spicey! and even with all the sheety stuff happening we still got the fire.

I've found rather difficult to write this review without giving a massive spoiler. So I'm sorry if it makes zero sense (not that any of my other reviews do).

It's Melissa Tereze and more so, it's Vanessa and Emma - there's no way this was ever going to be a sweet, easy going read. It's not... its deeply emotional but in typical Tereze style, she doesn't take that emotion where I thought she would, and she makes it worth your while to go on the journey.

I started reading this and had to put it down because I thought it was going to be too emotionally harsh. (Trying to avoid a spoiler here so apologies if that's vague.) I shouldn't have feared - Tereze is, as ever, like a good partner, she knows how much you can take, challenges you to take more but never actually breaks you. This is so true here.

The way Melissa creates an emotional turmoil that means we spend most of the story living in our two favourite women's heads is nothing short of magical. She makes the turmoil real and oh so personal but equally she makes it tolerable. All fans of Vanessa know that a little pain makes the pleasure more intense and this is true here too.

Oddly, Melissa somehow managed to take a storyline around a very specific and scary form of loss and strip it back to its essence, an essence that resonates, one of fear of ourselves, who we are and who we want to be for those we love. That only makes this more impactful.

After reading this, you WILL want to clutch those you love tight and I dare you not to shed a tear as you do so.
