    OK, one, what kind of ending is that! I may not have exactly liked either of these characters but was not expecting that! What a great twist to see who will end up with all the power! And oh boy, when everyone finds out about that choice that boy is doomed. Lio is proving how much he belongs in this world. Even though he never wanted it, he was made to reign along his true master. Cannot wait to see how vegence plays out in the next installment .

    Go into this series knowing that it’s a serial that needs to be read in order. That being said, if the triggers in book one didn’t turn you away, you should be fine with book two. The story is picking up speed. Is it over the top? Sure. Will you wonder how some of these people have lived for as long as they have? If you’re like me, you will. Is it entertaining? Definitely.

    This book. This book. I'll start off by saying that cliffhanger both proved I was right during the first book and it's such a TEASE! Evil authors are evil. How do you end a book like that and expect me to wait?

    When I said that book 1 wasn't dark enough, I didn't mean for this book to get lighter. Never fear, it's still dark, but it is by far nicer than book 1 was. Some of that is because Lio is coming into his own. He's playing the game and conforming to the boy Allesandro wants him to be because he understands that will get him what he wants. It doesn't always work out for him because he still has a lot to learn, but he's learning. The Stockholm Syndrome is strong with this one.

    Allesandro on the other hand, is still the big tough, mafia boss at the top. He proves it over and over that he is the boss. It's so good. What you see is what you get with him. With some surprises thrown in. There are unexpected feels. Not what a romance reader would expect and want, but for this book and these characters, it's sweet for them. There's a long way to go but we see some softening to Lio from both Allesandro and some of the boys.

    Again, this author threw me for a loop with one of her twists. I was looking at the wrong person the entire time and I should have known better. The hints were there, I was just too caught up in the rest of the story to realize it. Not at all a bad thing to be. But it left me kicking myself because I'm better than that *applauds Leigh Kenzie*

    I need book 3 now. I have a feeling we're just getting started.
