    There aren't enough words for this book. It's...not perfect but perfect for the characters. Everything has come down to this. Il Padrone and his Boys have been through a LOT over the past eight books. They've faced challenges both individually and as a family and now, the last villain trying to ruin them is ready for the final showdown.

    Emilio has come a long way since book one. He's now everything he needs to be to help his Master, and his Brothers to take down the one who wants to ruin them.

    Il Padrone has also come so far. You wouldn't think that after all he's done during the series, everything he's put his Boys through, that he could... have character development, but he does. It's not so much that he changes, but that he embraces everything he's shoved down for so long. Growing up with his father, he became who he thought he needed to be, but meeting Lio and the trials and tribulations they have gone through, have taught him how that he can be Il Padrone and just Allesandro at the same time. It was really nice to see such character development in a rather cold and unyielding character.

    I loved everything about this book. Leigh Kenzie told an amazing story across eight books and she wraps it up in a very messy bow. The writing in this book is top-notch and beautiful in places in this book. The story works and does everything the finale needs to do.

    Absolutely love everything about this series and while I'm sad that it's ending now, and I happy where the story ended up.

    Series: 5 stars. Taken together the 8 book series was a fantastic read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters of Lio, Allesandro, and Luca were so well written. I didn't actually like them but I did love them. I'd like to read a story about Marcus/Keegan as well as Benjamin/Ignacio. Benjamin managed to bring some humor to a dark tale. And dark it was,the blackest black imaginable. This brings as to why I gave this last book 4 * instead of 5. First after waiting and waiting for all the villains to finally get their well deserved pay back, it fell flat! It was quick perfunctory and felt rushed. I was not given the time to wallow in and savor their misery and destruction. Also the epilogues were so out of character, it seemed like I had stumbled into a different story. So much sweetness and light! The treacley HEA just didn't fit. It went way overboard. But all in all this series certainly satisfied my craving for a dark, sex filled, never dull mafia inspired story. Well Done!

    Let's be clear, this series is not for the faint of heart. It is dark and delightfully twisted and the characters are not ashamed of who they are and what they do. There are several couples featured, but the primary couple, Allesandro and Emilio are true soul mates. I am going to say little more, because I don't want to spoil any part of the story, but I read all eight books back to back to back...I can't remember when I slept last, I was so eager to devour every word.

    This series has just blown me away. I love it. It is the perfect mix of bloodthirsty and sweet, sex and love.

    Lio, Alessandro and the family are facing down their enemies, those they know and those they don’t. They must take on Jax and his delusions. And he is truly delusional, Jax. We get more peeks into his mind and thinking.

    Lio is navigating his relationship/engagement to his Maser/daddy/Il Padrone/soul mate. While also handling his friendships and grief over those they’ve lost.

    Alessandro is having to navigate new, pesky emotions and empathy. Something he’s never had to deal with, not til Lio. We get to see him embrace them though. To grow into the man he really is, to separate himself from his father. Cause even though there are similarities, they are different.

    And during all this, we get to see Ignacio and Benjamin’s journey. Marcus and Keegan. Antonio, Luca. They all get their spotlights in this book.

    Leigh Kenzie does a wonderful job spinning this story, taking us on a journey of love, loss, grief, pain and revenge. To test loyalties, courage and to find their inner strengths. To see that emotions aren’t for the weak, that love isn’t for the weak. It is for the strong.

    The love these characters have for each other is beautiful and vicious. And it encompasses all sorts of love, romantic, brotherly and even that thin line between love and hate (Yeah, I’m talking to you Lio and Luca).

    Leigh Kenzie really takes you through the wringer during this entire series. And makes you fall in love with these characters, even when they betray their brothers, their Master. They maybe morally gray and murdery but you still love them. You root for them.

    This book ends the series perfectly. And even though it seems like it is about revenge and vendettas, it’s really about forgiveness, loyalty, and love. So much love. The sex is spicy but it doesn’t take from the plot and story. It doesn’t overwhelm it or make you feel like you are missing it.

    This is a dark Mafia series and does include plenty of depravity! Be warned! This whole series is superbly written, full of twists and turns. It is a huge credit to Leigh Kenzie to keep us entertained and on the edge of our seats for the whole 8 books. I love this series and can highly recommend it, but please read it in order. Castigo the final book, is still full of plot twists while leading us to the conclusion and leaves you with a tantalising tease of future works from this talented author.

    I waiting in anticipation for this, I foresaw the end with Cole, and a fitting one at that Marcus and Keegan needed that peace. I live in hope the author will give us a wedding book, I'm happy the family is on track but I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book. Highly recommend this, its a fitting end with the promise of more. Jax really was a twisted peice of work, his sister well not really unexpected.
    Keep them coming, some series keep you enthralled throughout, and some are not worthy of remembering, this one I will re-read again when I need something murderous in my life.
