    Julia Cane is our MFC. She’s a 3D Designer and pretty with a gorgeous body.
    Grant McArthur is our MMC. He’s rich, handsome and being blackmailed. Oh also a widower with a small daughter he keeps secret from the pulpit.
    They had a “intense, melting, hot, “moment”, when locked in a room at a party. She was there hoping to snag a city development contract and he was there for his friend Mark.
    Turns out when they knew each other from childhood. And there’s bad feeling between their families over a business deal between their fathers years before.
    Julia feels she has failed her family and herself in getting involved with Grant.
    Damian, Grants brother, suggests Grants get Julia to be his fake fiancé to snub the blackmailer threat. So he secures her city development contract for her and they make an agreement on a fake engagement.
    There are and we’re mistakes made and misunderstanding. There’s a good hotness level and even sides of humor in this book. And Damian, he’s sneaky, sneaky 😂😂!! A very interesting journey to that well deserved happy ending.
    The characters are both experienced. If all the above is appealing, you will enjoy this book.

    Julia is looking to land a development contract and Damian is the man that can secure it for her. When they are locked i a storage closet, they have an intimate moment when she learns just who Damian is. Turns out they have a family feud going on between their families. Damian is being blackmailed and when his brother comes up with the idea of him getting a fake fiancé, he presents the proposal to Julia. Will their fake relationship turn into the real deal and will these two get their chance for a happily ever after.

    Julia Cane needs an important contract to advance her architecheral career. Grant MacArthur needs to reform his playboy reputation. A fake engagement should seem like a win-win situation, unfortunately their fathers are embroiled in a bitter feud that started when Grant's father, an architect, submitted a proposal drawn up by Julia's father, also an architect, as his own work. To add inst to injury, Mr. MacArthur's career flourished while Mr. Cane's career stagnated.

    Needless to say, both Julia and Grant have reason to resent each other, but their attraction to each other is positively electric. Julia agrees to Grant's proposal of a fake engagement in return for the guaranteed contract she needs and it's not long before their mutual attraction gives way to genuine feelings, especially when Julia meets Grant's adorable young daughter and falls for her too. Before they can think of a way to break it to their feuding relatives, someone gives their secret away and they're forced to confront Julia's family with the truth about what really happened and why.

    With the feud finally settled, Grant and Julia are well on their way to an HEA and not even a scheme cooked up by Grant's psycho ex can stop it. The best part is when Damien reveals to the reader about how he orchestrated the whole engagement situation to bring the two families together again. Well done Ms. MacKenzie, well done.

    Julia and Grant connect before they find out who they are. Family feud started with their fathers regarding a contact. A relationship between them began as a way to improve his image and for her to win a work contract. Barriers break down and both sides talk about what really happened in the past.

    The blurb has outlined the story itself & some reviewers have given more detail so I won't dwell on the story itself. I could relate to the main characters but they had a long way to go to get their hea & convince their families that they should bury the hatchets of the past & condone their budding relationship.     Grumpy Daddy Next Door is an enjoyable, enemies to lovers, single Dad romance. Julia and Grant have an unplanned tryst at a ball that is the beginning of their true relationship. A cute story that I liked very much.

    Jane and Grant have a past where their once close families want nothing to do with each other. That in itself makes their growing attraction complicated and heated. Add in a little blackmail, past betrayal and fake fiancé proposal and this story gets rolling. The epilogue was in Damien's POV which was interesting, but it would have been nice to have a more detailed account.
