This is a book about using successful traits of ancient ancestors to find the fire within yourself to heal, grow, and self-improve. It's more spiritual than I expected.

    Some of the examples were sun, wind, fire, water, air, earth and precious metals. It goes into depth about using the power of using sunlight for healing. Candlelight rituals and prayer are another way of healing. Using your inner fire or confidence/radiance to overcome difficult issues is encouraged from this book. It goes into the power of using water. Water has cleansing properties. Water quenches thirst, waves of healing and encouragement towards overflow of water or abundance; getting rid of negative thoughts and replacing them with positive thoughts. Another healing element is Air. Mother Nature and the earth have healing powers, sometimes the scent of the soil and the growth of trees, grasses, and other elements like a forest bath have biochemical healing properties. Precious metals have healing powers, love, strength, and change are a few. I found this book empowering and good for healing the soul.

    Utilizing her knowledge, passion, and lust for life, Caroline Hurry has written a different self-help book, one that emphasizes our connection with the outer world and the universe in general.

    I’ve read another book by Hurry, an accomplished writer, and appreciate her wit and dramatic flair, which make for vibrant reading. The categories in this book are subtitled in both an exotic and earthy way (Trials by Fire, Air Queen, Solid Grounding), and the advice from each chapter is modeled under the richly explained topics. At the end of the Fire Queen section, for instance, Hurry offers this advice: "forge a new way of being with the fire of your inner suns, incinerate fear and pain, rage and burn of ancestral precedents, and embrace anguish as an agent of transformation."

    My favorite portions of “Reign” are toward the end, when Hurry writes about taking care of your body by tuning into it and enhancing your mind by tuning into your environment on a wide scale. When the weather gets warmer in my neck of the woods, I'm going to walk barefoot in my backyard every day to see if I feel the positive effects that the author does.

    I also loved the parts about the consciousness of plants, the ways animals operate in nature, and Hurry's encounter with Freddie Mercury from a 1984 press conference.

    Reign is pure royal drama in the best way. It kicks off with chaos and just keeps building—power struggles, secrets, and emotional twists that don’t let up. There’s this constant tension of who’s really in control, and watching it all unravel is honestly addictive.

    The characters are a mess (in a fun way), juggling loyalty, ambition, and a whole lot of pressure. Everyone has something to hide or something to prove, and it makes for a super entertaining read. I wouldn’t say it’s super deep, but it’s definitely got heart—and a few moments that actually hit kind of hard.
