I started reading this series with book 3 instead of book 1. It was so good, I just had to read all of it! All 3 books can be read alone, but together they are so much more powerful! Gives me chills thinking about those shadows...

A creepy cover and a creepy story.

Although this is the second book of a series it worked well as a standalone book.

The main character, Seth Loomis, is obviously traumatised by the events in the first book, which seem to have culminated in him somehow surviving a fall from the roof of Ravenmeols Mental Hospital.

In this book Seth is staying with Malc, a longtime friend, and his family. Malc’s wife, Georgia, wants himm to leave, so when his uncle is murdered and leaves him a house, with the condition that he looks after the collection of occult artefacts, it’s not a hard decision for Seth to make.

One item in the collection, a painting, is what got his uncle killed and puts Seth and his friends in danger, as members of a formidable cult will stop at nothing to get their hands on it.

I enjoyed this dark and thrilling tale, in which it seemed no character was safe from harm or death. I will be adding the first book to my to-read lead, and keeping a look out for further books in this series.

The first book was good but this one truly shook me. For maximum emotion read this in the dark as I have. What are the things that hide in the shadows?

It’s very well written, however, it’s not what I thought it was. Didn’t like that storyline. But that’s just me.

This is the second book I've read of the series. I truly wish grammar and character building were more complete.
