Weighting for Love: M/M Cowboy Romance (Weighting... Book 1) Kindle Edition
Wyatt Smothers is a retired rodeo bronc rider who runs the Circle S Ranch with his family. Ranching is hard work, and successful ranching is even harder. Donna Jo, the oldest of the siblings, lands on her next great idea to keep the ranch afloat—a weight loss camp at The Circle S, which is the last thing Wyatt wants to hear. After a family vote, the camp idea is a go.
Everyone at the ranch pitches in to make it a success, but in the process of planning, Wyatt reads an essay from a potential camper—U-4-NY—that touches something inside him. Will he still feel the same way when he set eyes on U-4-NY?

Talbot Andrews isn’t living his best life: twenty-seven, living in his parents’ basement, and struggling with the way he looks. He writes lies—a weight loss blog—which is his best work of fiction to date. Bragging about the fun activities he undertakes to help with his weight loss quest doesn’t equate to pounds lost.
An advertisement on a food blog catches his eye and something inside him clicks. Losing weight on a working cattle ranch is like a fairytale come true, so he applies and decides to be totally honest with himself and on his application for the first time in a long time, embarrassment be damned.
An email from W. Smothers of Smothers Ranch sparks something inside, and Tal’s goals finally become clear: go to Texas, lose the weight, meet the cowboy, and hopefully, live his happily ever after. Was it too much for a man to ask?
TRIGGER WARNING: This book deals with sensitive issues associated with weight-loss, body image, and self-acceptance. If any of these things are triggers, please proceed the caution.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2019Sam E. Kraemer's Weighting for Love is the first book in The Weighting series. It is a a gay for you cowboy romance between a gay fluffy weightloss blogger and the previously straight and fit ex-rodeo star. One man is about to find himself open to a different idea of love and attraction and the other is about to find a new motivation.. and both of their lives are changing. Its sweet with a splash of sexy scenes, it's got some humor and some drama. I fell in love with Tal and Wyatt and I can not wait for the next installment of their wonderful love story.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2022Talbot is done being the fat guy. He going to try this ranch and pray he looses the weight. Cowboy & ex Bronx rider Wyatt is grasping at straws to save the family ranch. His sister comes up with the plan and they work together to make it happen - well most work together. This is a rewarding book of destructive behavior and rewarding yourself. Healthy living not just diet & exercise but body, mind and soul and I love this story holds that sentiment. Don't stop there is drama, Intrigue and plot twist to keep you hooked. Great MM Romance!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2023Well written story and well developed characters! The Circle S Ranch is in trouble. The four family members, after some heated discussion, decided to try being a weight loss ranch! Hopefully it works!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2020This story had a lot of promise, but it was clunky in parts. I enjoyed it overall but found myself getting bogged down in repetitive descriptors. I think it tried to have too many plots and lost the thread for a bit, but the ending was a nice wrap-up. Overall it was a good cowboy, pan-awakening story and I will probably read book 2 because I do want to follow their story.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2022Tal has struggled with his weight for a long time and takes the opportunity to visit the Smothers ranch to work on his health. Wyatt Smothers is helping his siblings run the camp and falls for Tal Sweet story line but for heavens sake . Wyatt can’t seem to talk when he needs to and Tal is endlessly doubting everything that happens between them. They are the poster couple for lack of and miscommunication. When they finally talked things got sorted but why or why did they wait so long to do it? (Yes, I know it’s needed to drive the plot sometimes but this was overkill)
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2022This book had such an interesting plot I couldn't wait to read it, and it didn't disappoint. Talbot has always had a weight problem and when he sees an ad for a weight loss camp at a horse and cattle ranch he signs up. Wyatt is a retired bronco rider working on his family's ranch. When he begins corresponding to Tal before the camp starts, a misunderstanding ensues and the rest of the story is a fascinating account of how Tal and Wyatt get to know each other and come to accept their life together growing along the way.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2019A great book that both touches your heart and educates your mind. I can't wait to see where this series goes. I'll be following it and this is now on my reread list!!! Great truths are inside this story!! Don't miss it!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2022I really enjoyed reading this book. It deals with weight issues and self perception which are big issues today especially in the gay community. Talbot is overweight and has tried several diets to lose his weight. Wyatt is a retired rodeo champion. Wyatt’s sister comes up with the idea to turn their ranch into a weight loss retreat to help people lose weight and to bring in much needed income. Talbot and Wyatt begin e mailing over the details and Wyatt thinks Talbot is a female. Well imagine their surprise when they meet. But the story does not end there. Talbot and Wyatt become good friends and develop feelings for each other. But Wyatt is not ready for them. Plus there are some shady dealings going on with the ranch. These two men must make some hard choices if they want to be happy.

A good nail biting story.
Tal certainly deserved his dream cowboy.
Wyatt did really well tofall for Tal,a bit of a womaniser at one time, then meeting Tal made him true to himself, falling for a man.
