Counting Down to Christmas: A Sweet Small Town Christmas Romance (Draper Falls Christmas Romance Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 31 ratings

Rosalie

I’ve got one month to get my life together, or it’s going to be a very un-Merry Christmas for me!

When I run into my childhood buddy, Nate, outside Martin’s Grocery on Thanksgiving Day, he invites me to catch up at his nearby veterinary office.

Nate is just what I need to go from hopeless to hopeful about returning home after my failed marriage. He offers me the support and comfort of an old friendship, and a job as his office manager.

Working side-by-side with him is only a teensy bit challenging. Nate’s a shameless flirt, and I can’t stop sneaking glances at this cuter, funnier version of the guy I used to know. It makes me wonder if, despite our platonic past, do we have a romantic future together?

Counting Down to Christmas is a story that leaves you with all the feels at the holidays. First in the series, we are introduced to Rosalie and her childhood friend Nate. Both are nursing broken hearts and discover they can help each other heal. Given the timeline that Roslie gave herself, will they be able to have a merry Christmas?

I loved the festive setting of this romance and the build up of the romance. Can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading the next one. I haven’t read this author before now but I’m sure to read many more of her books in the future. I thought the plot moved along at a nice pace. The characters are relatable and easy to love. I would recommend this book to others who enjoy this genre.

A fun story that although both characters had been through bad situations, was upbeat and full of family support. I loved the teasing by siblings for both of them, yet all was done in kindness and love. Sprinkled with humor, this was a fast and delightful book that left me smiling.

Counting Down to Christmas by Roxie Clarke was a heartwarming, perfect for the Christmas season read.

Rosalie is returning home after a recent divorce, and reconnects with her childhood friend, Nate. Nate is a veterinarian, and has an adorable Chihuahua sidekick, Goliath. The banter among the two main characters and their families made this book even more fun than a Christmas Hallmark movie.

3.5/5 stars. Recommended for those looking for a clean, sweet, low-angst holiday read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book's unique countdown to Christmas format! As I read, I loved picturing the characters in my mind, and I appreciated the author's thoughtful representation of a blackish couple. While it didn't directly impact the story, it added a wonderful layer of depth. I was also thrilled to see Shane's redemption arc, proving he wasn't so bad after all. Although the sisters' meddling was occasionally frustrating, the story remained delightfully charming.

Hesitant to go home for Thanksgiving after the end of her marriage, Rosalie has no choice as she has no job, no money, no home. However, she does find a job quickly-- with an old high school crush. Trying to be coworkers with no emotional attachments can be a bit difficult!
Matchmaking sisters also add hilarity to the story.
I was provided with a copy of the book; this review is my honest opinion.

Rosie has come back home without telling her family that she’s been divorced for a few months. She has no job or place to live. Nate is the town veterinarian and is still trying to get over his ex-fiancé leaving him for his best friend. They run into each other at the grocery store on Thanksgiving and reconnect. They’ve both have loved each other since high school. Will they be able to connect their friendship and love together.
This is my first Roxie Clarke book. I loved it. Thank you.
