About the author

Helga Hopkins grew up in Switzerland and has happy memories of long hot summers canoeing on the River Rhine and playing pirates with her brother and sisters.
Helga now lives in Southern England with her husband and ginger cat Wizzy-Woo. Her fun-loving feline is the inspiration for her children's picture books about a gang of furry friends and their hilarious adventures around the neighbourhood.
The real Wizzy-Woo likes to keep an eye on Helga by sleeping in the nice warm gap between her keyboard and the computer. She is currently working on new adventures for both Wizzy-Woo and her other popular children's character, Captain Blownaparte.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2019I was given this book for free to read and review. This is a sweet little picture book about a kitten who gets a new home. I read with my two year old grandson daily and he is my sounding board on wether a book is good for little ones. He really enjoyed this book. The colorful and well draw illustrations kept his attention and he was very interested in what would happen next in the story. So if you have little kids that like to read with you, this is a good book for them.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2019This is my second Wizzy Woo book. Enjoyable read for children and the adults that read to them. Colorful illustrations, simple adventurous language make this an engaging story to be shared again and again.
I did notice that this book seems to have taken place before the first one I read as Wizzy already had friends in that one, here she is just meeting them. Also, the illustrations in the first one were a bit different, due to a different illustrator. Highly recommended to be added to any children’s or class read aloud library.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2019This is such a sweet little book! It's perfect for little ones story time. This book starts out after Wizzy-Woo is born in a Barn. Then Wizzy-Woo goes to his Forever Home. It's fun to see him meet new friends and his adventures begin! This book is also full of bright illustrations to accompany each story page making it very interactive for children. This book is a winner! I received this ARC copy from Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2019I received this book as part of an ARC review. Wizzy-Woo is a kitten who was born on a farm but was adopted by a family in the city. There he meets the neighborhood cats and is warned about the real grumpy one next door. Another kitten named Sylvia and Wizzy-Woo get into trouble exploring and get caught by Bivitt. When Bivitt gets revenge, Wizzy-Woo must get his owner Kristin to save the day. There is a slight lesson in the story to obey your elder's warnings about dangers but it doesn't come very strong. The art work is very good.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2019I volunteered to review this book after receiving a free copy. I'm glad I did. Wizzy-Woo is a sweet, little, troublemaker. Reading this story reminds me of my own kittens we raised last year. My children absolutely loved the pictures and enjoyed the story so much, they asked me to read it over and over again. Even my 3 year old, who doesn't sit still for any book, sat and listened to Wizzy's adventure. I look forward to more of his exciting adventures.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2019I adore children's books that involve animals and it's all the better if the animal's a cat! This book did not let me down, for Wizzy was adorable and sufficiently catlike. I also liked the morals included, like how it's okay to move when necessary.
~ I am leaving this honest review in exchange for a free ARC digital copy, provided by Hidden Gems ~
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2019A cute little kitten story. Good illustrations to incite conversation with your child. Kittens helping each orher. True for life situations. A fun read.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2019I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy and I read it to all 4 of my children. My youngest is four and to be honest she only cared about the pictures. My other three loved the story but were a bit curious about some of the bigger words used in the book. This is definitely a "mommy read to me" book, because of the bigger words that most young kids would know how to pronounce. Needless to say, my kids loved the story of Wizzy and his friends. They especially love the bravery he showed at the end, and they hope to soon go another adventure with the characters.
