Waiting Game: Ocean Bay #2 Kindle Edition

Daryl King
I lived my life by the three-never rules.
1. Never back down.
2. Never break down.
3. Never look back.
The past was behind us for a reason. As for my past? Well, most of it felt like a dream – more like a horrible nightmare – and for years, I allowed myself to believe just that.
Denial was my friend because my memories couldn't be trusted.
But now the girl I've adored since Pre-K is back in my town, back in my high school, and I'm losing control.
The foundations around my carefully constructed world are cracking.
My whole damn world is fracturing and falling apart at the seams.
Molly comes with a whole heap of scars and a tidal wave of cold home truths. She thinks I'm some sort of hero. I can only pray she never discovers the truth.

*** Warning ***
Because of its explicit sexual content, mature themes, triggers, violence, cliffhanger ending, and bad language, Waiting Game is suitable for mature readers of seventeen years and above.

Waiting Game was so worth the wait!! I loved Molly's character in End Games and Chloe made me fall in love with her character even more in Waiting Game. Molly is strong and a survivor. She has on an armor so that nothing can hurt her. When Molly first moved back to her home all she wanted was to hug her best friend and to feel normal. She wasn't prepared to be forgotten. Daryl and Molly were inseparable when they were younger. The best of friends, until that horrible night and their lives changed forever. Daryl is distraught that Molly has been back at their home town for two years and he didn't even remember her. Feeling guilt and shame he is prepared to make it up to her, but what happens when the people who are supposed to be your friends makes fun of Molly. This book had my heart breaking. So many emotions and then I'm hit with that cliffhanger ending!! I need to know what happened?? Who did it?? I'm loving this series and it is a must read!!

I really enjoyed this story with everything that is classic Chloe Walsh. She captures all the teenage emotions of humor, angst, love and heartache perfectly.

I didn’t quite fall in love with Molly and Daryl like I did with Rourke and Mercy in Endgame but their story still isn’t finished so I’m sure that will change with the next book.

I loved this book so much! After reading Mercy and Rourke's (M&R) story in End Game, I was excited to read Molly and Daryl's (M&D) story as well... and it did NOT disappoint! I loved the back and forth moments of present day and flashbacks of M&D as kids. The characters were fully developed and I love Daryl so much - the way he loves Molly is beautiful! And Molly's internal dialogue was heart-breaking to see and "hear" how she feels about herself.

I also really appreciated the author weaving in some stories of M&R and where they were in their relationship so you could really get a sense of where M&D's story fell in the timeline since when this book begins, M&R aren't together yet. All in all, it was 150 pages of great stuff and a great intro to the story. Really makes me excited to read Truth Game!

I waited 3 years for the next book in this series and its FINALLY out!! I read it in 2 hours and I felt a little cheated. 3 years for this!!! I only got 165 pages of rushed romance and a cliff hanger.... I got bits of pieces of Molly and Darryls past together but it just wasn't enough for me to get an emotional connection and believe their romance. I gave it three stars cause i enjoyed reading about Rourke and Mercedes again.
I hope its not another 3 years for the next book. This book left me so disappointed and wanting more. 😭😭

As someone who has been “waiting” (pun certainly intended) for Molly and Daryl’s story ever since “Endgame” first came out, I was beyond thrilled when I saw that these two characters were finally going to reunite. Even with my expectations as high as they were, Chloe Walsh still managed to exceed them somehow, because “Waiting Game” is incredibly moving, romantic, and a bit of a tear-jerker (in the best way possible), and I think that I will have to claim Daryl as my new book boyfriend now. The story does end on a cliffhanger, but it is a fairly mild one, and the conclusion to this series will apparently be out in April, so luckily, I do not have long to “wait.” Bring on “Truth Game,” because I am in love with this couple!

I have been waiting for Daryl and Molly's story since Endgame. And it did not disappoint! Chloe hit a home run with this one. I loved Daryl in Endgame and needed more of him. I loved that we were able to learn about his and Molly's history and back story. Daryl really does have a heart of gold and you feel so bad for him. Then theres Molly....my oh my that girl for everything she has gone and suffered through she is one strong girl. Parts of this story will have your jaw hit the floor. You won't see it coming. It ends on a cliffhanger and I cant wait to read the next part of their story!!

Wow, this was such a good book! I remember thinking, after reading End Game, that I couldn't wait to read Molly and Daryl's story, and it definitely did not disappoint! I love that it's from both POVs, and that it flashes back to the past, so you really get a sense of how well they knew each other, and how connected they had always been. I'm going straight to Truth Game now, because I just can't wait to see how their story ends. Definitely recommended!

K, I'll start off by saying Chloe Walsh is one of my favourite authors and I love her ability to make me lose myself in her books for hours on end.
The premise of this book is great and the characters have so much potentiol but it just felt so rushed. It felt like she was halfway through writing, realised the release date was upon her, stuck a sex scene in the last chapter and added a cliff hanger.
Saying that, I will buy the next book and perhaps my review of the book as a whole will differ.

Molly has been deeply burnt in a fire when she was 10. I found this trip quite original. The heroin is quite insecure. And the hereos gas his own demons as well.

Going into this book, I was expecting a hot storyline, much like Endgame. Rourke and Six are some of my favourite character - what I didn't expect, was to fall so deeply in love with Daryl and Molly's relationship and their history. Chloe doesn't shy away from the tough topics and gives her readers a deeper understanding of the struggles her characters really go through.

Bravo Chloe - I wait with baited breath for Daryl and Molly's finale!

Chloe Walsh you have done it again you amazing woman. What can I say about this book. I was so excited to read Molly and Darryl's story and was not disappointed!!
I absolutely loved seeing how their connection first started.. And yes It was a little strange that he didn't realise who she was for 2 whole years but we see how much molly meant to him and when she was ripped away you can understand, he spent so long trying to get over it that when she was right there in front of him his brain just wouldn't allow him to remember.

I absolutely loved these characters as much as a loved Rourke and six... I didn't think I would love them as much but I did!!!!

I would definitely recommend reading End game first in order to understand the characters better. This ended on a cliff hanger that had me shouting at my phone 🙈😂 I cannot wait until the next book and thank god I don't have long to wait!!

I have been waiting ages for Daryl and Molly’s story and I was not disappointed. I loved every moment of it.
I loved the background Chloe gave us with their story to show how they ended up where they are today. I loved the heartache you could feel pouring off the pages.
Was also great to see some of Six and Rourke’s banter.
I’m beyond exited to read the next part of their story to see how it ends.

Finally!!!!! Finally!!!! The long awaited story of the beautiful Molly and Daryl is finally here! I’m so glad... but man alive its a dozy of a cliffhanger!!! I want more STAT!!!!
Beautifully written (as always from our girl Mrs Walsh) and i think once we get the 2nd part of this tale, i think the story will be done to give Molly and Daryl justice. They deserve us to know their beginnings, their middles and their (hopefully) happy ever after!
I’m so thankful Chloe took a leap and gave us this - we championed on at her a lot lol! But all jokes aside - a very talented author, beautifully written story and i cannot wait to read part 2!
