Watermelon With You? Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 154 ratings

Keep your enemies close…

Unless they steal your watermelon.

Talon Banks was just one of the many reasons I was forced to leave my hometown at seventeen. But I won’t let it happen again.

It took a long time but I’m finally back in Magnolia Point and living my dream running a food truck with my best friend. Our fun, fresh and often obscure holiday themed dishes are a huge hit - except with Talon.

I thought we could let bygones be bygones but he’s still the second worst person I know.

First place belongs to my mother.

But Talon is an anomaly. The gorgeous mechanic with a teacup pig and a soft spot for his niece is nothing like I remember.

And just when I think I have him all figured out, he changes the rules and sparks fly. Instead of fighting we’re putting our mouths - and hands - to better use.

How could I have been so wrong when things with Talon feel so right?

In 2024, escape to the lowcountry of Magnolia Point, South Carolina, and celebrate all the fun holidays with your favorite group of romance authors and their charming Southern men. See you there!

National Watermelon Day

National Watermelon Day
What a fun and sweet story with a bit of heat. But we are talking about an enemies to lovers story and a sassy female business owner who makes fruit salsas! So really it makes sense. Cora and Talon were complete opposite back in high school he was the handsome jock, and she was the smart, nerdy, awkward pretty girl. And they loved to hate each other and were super competitive about everything. Well when Cora moves back to Magnolia Point it seems not much has changed or at least Cora's emotional damage isn't letting it, but Talon is determined to change her mind. So enjoy this fast paced, friend and family funny quick read you're sure to enjoy. I have voluntarily left this review.

What more can you want. Man of the Month Club never disappoints. Watermelon with You by Alexandra Hale is no exception.

I love a good second chance/enemies to lovers storyline and this one checks all the boxes.

This was such a cute short story! I loved the back and forth between Cora and Talon. Cora is fierce, independent and keeps her heart protected. Talon is a semi grumpy but soft on the inside, boy obsessed, mechanic. Watching Talon try to win Cora over was a roller coaster in the best way. I loved all the highs and lows.

And what a fun way to incorporate National Watermelon Day! I didn’t even know that was a holiday. Will definitely be trying some watermelon sorbet now though (Iykyk). Alexandra never misses on the feel good, fun, angsty, small town romances.

I love the banter in an enemies to lovers story and this one did not disappoint. Cora and Talon are great!

Even better is the way Talon consistently strives to make Cora see that there is so much more to them. His patience and devotion had me swooning. Especially when it came to her scars from a past surgery. He worshiped her in a way that let her know how he truly felt...madly in love with all of her.

Watermelon With You is a fun enemies to lovers story. A childhood rivalry leads to lots of tension in all the best ways. This novella packs so much into a short story and wraps it up so nicely. There’s an adorable little girl, a cute teacup pig, themed food truck fun, banter, wit, meddling siblings, and social media drama. If you enjoy explosive enemies to lovers tension you will definitely enjoy this one.

Loved this steamy read about childhood rivals brought back together. The banter and spice was on point! Talon and Cora for the win!

“Watermelon With You?” by Alexandra Hale is another Man of the Month Club novella set in the small town of Magnolia Point. It’s a swoony enemies to lovers romance that I think will appeal to a lot of people!

The two main characters are Talon and Cora, who were rivals in high school. Talon wants to work things out in a peaceful way since they’re living in the same town again, but Cora still loathes him and refuses to give him a chance.

I thought Talon and Cora’s story was a quick, funny, and spicy read. I thought they had some great chemistry, even when they found each other infuriating. I will definitely be looking into Alexandra Hale’s other books after reading this one. I would recommend to fans of the enemies to lovers trope and/or small town romance reads!

This was a perfect little palette cleanser after finishing a heavy complicated series. The banter and spice was awesome, and all the characters personalities shine through, can’t wait to read more about them.

Talon drove Cora crazy as a teen and one chance meeting years later had the sparks flying! Who knew something as simple as buying a watermelon could finally lead to a happily ever after. He pushes her buttons and her boundaries. She's the gal he never forgot. Good tale and it even has a cute kid and a pet pig.

High school rivals meet up again a decade later when their instant chemistry is held in check by old hurts and how they just trigger each other until they give into the attraction. I liked how the author handle grief, medical condition and family issues. Great short read
