Whatever It Takes Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

For the small town of Watkins Forge, the worst thing to happen is a heavy snowfall. That is until widower Cory Keller visits for an annual hunting trip. When he witnesses a murder in the nearby forest, no one believes him. With no corpse, and as the only witness, he is faced with convincing the town's skeptical sheriff before the killer tracks him down to silence him. As he develops a friendship with an attractive waitress, Keller discovers that he is up against much more than a killer and he must not only save himself but the whole town. Mick Williams is the author of Amazon Top Ten title A Reason To Grieve, and the page-turning adventure A Guy Walks Into A Bar.

Mick Williams moved from Stoke-On-Trent, England to Kentucky, USA. Then, after almost a decade, he moved back. Then, after three years, he moved back again.

This time he's staying.

In between reading, writing and listening to good music he still watches proper football and, for his sins, follows his local team, Port Vale. He does also still cheer for the Indianapolis Colts.

He was adopted by two cats, Crash and Thud, and resides with his patient wife (who is also tired of moving!) in Kentucky.

This was such a fun read! Filled with action, suspense, and enough mystery I blew through this novel. I really enjoyed all the characters, especially the MC, Keller. He was smart and witty and a great guy that did whatever it took to defeat the bad guys, save the town, and get the girl. Five stars.

Great action book with a touch of romance. Never having been to Watkins Forge, I don't know how accurate the story is, but the story is wonderful. Engaging, gripping, shocking. Loved it. I always get a good feeling when reading a Mick Williams action story, feels like a movie or a TV show.

Wow! Talk about being in the wrong place at the exact wrong time. Engrossing read with lots of flow and detail. I kept thinking to myself “Now would be the best time to climb in your truck and LEAVE.” But not this guy. Only a woman could inspire such death defying commitment. Micks writing takes you to the hilt while leaving it to the reader to invoke some really dark imaginative detail. I began to realize just how sick I am as this novel provided the perfect backdrops for some disturbing visuals. Would make a great screenplay. A super fun read!!

Whatever It Takes is a great story, an all-action movie in a book.
Watkins Forge is a small sleepy town with one hotel, where Keller has rented a room. He’s stayed here before on his annual hunting trip.
The story starts with hunting scene in a forest and quickly descends into Keller witnessing a murder.
Keller, very shaken from this, gets himself back to Watkins Forge where he reports it to the sheriff. The sheriff asks him to return the next day, when he’s has time to rest and recover from the ordeal he’s just seen. He pops out to eat where he gets chatting to Ashley, a waitress, and tells her about his day.
Very well-paced it kept me hooked with all that followed. And there was a lot of action!
Fights, kidnapping, secrecy, murder, trust and betrayal. Throw in some Eastern European hardened criminals, bullets flying and some graphic scenes. And a little romance too.
    Thoroughly recommended by me.
