Where We Begin Again Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 4 ratings

When Lola meets the enigmatic Sheena in a quiet Melbourne café, it feels like fate. She believes this chance encounter might finally unravel the secrets her fiancé has long kept buried. But what begins as a quest for answers soon turns into something far more disorienting—because Sheena knows things about Lola’s life that she should never know.

As unsettling memories begin to surface—fragments of another name, another love, and a heartbreaking loss—Lola’s sense of reality begins to crack. Each revelation pulls her closer to a truth too painful to face and a past she may not have chosen to forget.

Who is Lola, really? What devastating secret has her mind been protecting her from? And how is it all tied to Hannah—her fiancé’s first love, who vanished from Melbourne without a trace and was never spoken of again?

Spanning continents and shifting timelines, Where We Begin Again is a gripping psychological journey through identity, memory, and the shadows of the past. Perfect for readers drawn to emotionally charged suspense and layered storytelling that lingers long after the final page.

Adela Tobin has loved storytelling for as long as she can remember, weaving words into worlds where emotions run deep, and characters find the courage to reclaim themselves. Born and raised in Nigeria, she moved to Australia eighteen years ago, carrying with her a heart full of dreams and a longing for adventure.

Her writing is inspired by the resilience of women, the beauty of reinvention, and the quiet moments that shape us. Whether through fiction or personal reflection, she explores themes of love, loss, identity, and the strength it takes to start over.

She is also the author of Surviving and Thriving in a Foreign Land, a heartfelt and insightful exploration of the immigrant experience, offering wisdom, encouragement, and practical advice for those forging new paths far from home.

When she’s not writing, Adela finds joy in the simple things—tending to her garden, immersing herself in art and cultural festivals, and indulging in crafts that spark creativity. But above all, she cherishes time with her daughter, who reminds her daily of the beauty in growth, discovery, and the ever-evolving journey of life.

Hannah, Sheena and Lola, three women, three lives that intertwine. Between Australia, France and the United Kingdom is the setting of this novel. Gripping, exciting and real, a read that enthralled me from the first lines, with something more than the usual novels. Truly beautiful!

Beautiful book with a beautiful story of Lola who spends her life slipping between cities like a whisper, never stopping long enough to leave a trace. When she meets Sheena in Melbourne, she thinks she has found an escape from her past...... I recommend

The protagonist of the story wants to forget what happened previously as she experienced happy moments thinking she had found love only to find out it was just a deception.
