    Jackson, a mountain lion shifter, saw as a young child how his family was killed and only he and 2 of his siblings survived the massaker. Since then they had been on the run. While he works online as a social media manager for a popular band he becomes friend with Summer, a young woman who lives in the area he grew up and he finally decides to visit her and check out the situation around his family's old territory, as he is tired of running.
    Recognising his mate in Summer makes it even more imperative to build a permanent home.
    But of course there are some challenges to him and the territory before he can finally settle down.
    I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The story is a mix of regular contemporary romance mixed with a little shifter lore, a pleasant mix, even though Ms. Street seems to descrtibe more the behaviour of a lion and less of a mountain lion. An enjoyable story for a quiet time to relax with a book.

    Wow! Excellent story. Summer is a strong, independent woman who was hurt by a greedy, useless man. But she has a BFF in Becca, who's a lawyer, & helping her and protecting her. Jackson is a mountain lion shifter with a couple problems of his own. He and Summer hook up via social media and things fly from there. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up.

    It sure started out differently with Jackson contacting Summer on SocialBook. Strangers pulled together by fate. Nice one Liza. lol. This is the first book I have read by this author. I love the way she started this book. I never would have thought of this if I was a writer. And then once they meet in person and the protectiveness that Jackson felt for Summer was awesome. Plus a struggle for him because of his past. Then the struggle for Summer to trust Jackson not to hurt her. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. Love this book and this author.

    Jackson suffered a tragedy in his past which gave him a little bit of an "I'm not worthy" complex. I enjoyed reading how he worked through that, and I thought it was endearing.

    That is, until he met Summer. I loved reading how just her being her quirky self gave Jackson a reason to want to be a better man. Er, mountain lion. Shifter.

    And THEN, Liza throws in some very suspicious happenings, and Jackson doesn't hesitate to stand up and be the protector he never knew he was.

    I am VERY interested to read Jackson's older brother, Will's book. He REALLY seems like that dark, brooding no-nonsense type...my favorite!

    I'm so excited for more of these books!

    This was a very good read By Liza Street, the writing style was good in that it moved freely from one party to another and kept the story going. There was some hot and sexy moments featuring a delicious Alpha Male Mountain Lion. Also the book featured love, lost, betrayal, acceptance, coming home and much more. I really enjoy it.

    The book is based on 3 Lion shifter siblings who 4 years ago had to abandon their home after their family was brutally murdered within their home. The three siblings Will, Jackson and Hayley were driven form they're lands to go on the run away from those who would seek to do them harm.

    And this is where our story takes flight Jackson strikes up an online friendship with Summer, a dental hygienist who is currently living in Dark Pines. Getting to know each other Jacksonmakes the decision to leave his siblings on the road at a travel back to Dark Pines to see Summer and to also find out what happened to the pride that ruined their lives. Jackson knows that there is so much more to the beautiful summer and that his instincts are telling him to protect her at all costs that's making him think that she could be his mate, and due to him being a shifter finding his mate is a profound gift, where shifters automatically want to be with them from that moment on, but it's hard dealing with a human who has no idea who he is.

    Although as he grows closer with Summer and she experiences her own connection to Jackson the two enter into a whirlwind relationship. But their relationship becomes strained when an unknown person or shifter starts leaving presents for Summer, leaving her terrified of who it is and why he would do it all though Jackson believes he's the reason it's happening.

    A great book and would recommend.

    This is the way that finding love via social media should work out - two lonely people who connect, then meet and find that the connection is real. The twist about Jackson returning to his hometown after being chased out makes this romance more piquant. The outstanding state of the family feud with the resulting potential danger to Summer made this romance develop faster and deeper than it otherwise might have, which fits with the length of the story without being either too much or too little. This is a good read - fans of Keira Blackwood or Isadora Montrose would like this.

    I enjoyed the story & loved the main characters but for me the ending fell flat. Who was Marius? Why was he helping Dan? Why did he switch sides? Then sister Hayley turns up & it's the end. I know this is a series & I will likely by the rest but to me everything felt unresolved. I get that by buying the next book some of my questions will be answered but I just felt that Jackson & his mate deserved a better ending.
