👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️ ✨5 Star Read✨ This was such a great book. Genuinely fun, fast paced with some fantastic deaths. I adored the that there was another part of the story with even more gruesome suspense to add. It was the perfect blend of what a coming to age / suspenseful folklore horror book should be. I hope there will be more to come for Joey Speight. I listened to it on Audible and Joe Hempel was fantastic as always. But I’ll definitely be grabbing a hard copy! Lastly, Jay’s descriptions of ….grapes. Made me spit out my coffee and crack up. It was perfect!

The Eyebiter's origin story comes at you in a fast paced tale of terror. 13 year old Joey gets uprooted from the only home he knows, Chicago, and transplanted to Willow Falls and a supernatural horror.

You can't help but feel for Joey as he struggles with with the monumental change the move brings. His quickly established friendship with Len is the perfect light in contrast to the darkness of attracting the Eyebiter's attention.

The story has a great ebb and flow of intense action and horror combined with character building and backstory development. It holds your attention and keeps your heart in your throat straight through to the conclusion.

I finished a audiobook by Jay Bower this morning.

There was one line, that just sent me reeling..
    "Ate her like a potpie"

No context, you have to figure that out by reading or listening but what a absolute mic drop 😂😂

I had to rewind and listen a second time.

This was such a wild book, I wasn't sure who was the issue, I was suspecting grandma, the dad, hell the nice lady our MC met at the ice cream place who was being really nice. Hell maybe even the Mc?

Thats how into my head Jay got with this one 😂

I honestly think I want to read this a second time, it was so expertly crafted that it kept me guessing and absolutely needing more till the end.

I didn't even mean to come do a whole review here, my orginal post was gonna end after that one lone quote, but I just kept word vomiting and here we are.

This was weird small town, big horror lol

This is going to be my goodreads review now lol

Really enjoyed this book. . .the characters were great! I wasn't sure how it was going to end the twists and turns keeping you at the edge of your seat . you always want the good guys to make it but you know sometimes the eye bitter has backup. I definitely can't wait for the next book in the eye biter series.

Listened the audiobook of this creature that craves the blood of others. As it haunts the town can the children find a way to rid it of this menace? Does Joey finally find out what it is? Read this book to find out what happens to Willow Falls, Joey, and his friends. Pretty mysterious book.

I just finished this book, and I will seek out other books by this author. In fact, I already downloaded Cadaverous and will read that shortly. I take forever to read a book, but I finished this rather quickly. It gives me great pleasure to actually look forward to picking up a book and getting involved in the story, and I had this feeling with The Terror of Willow Falls. The story went along smoothly and held my interest throughout. I enjoyed Joey's chapters more than the flashbacks, but eventually they merged. Can't wait to get my teeth into more Eyebiter!🍴

The writing is functional but uninspired, and the book badly needed editing for coherence and organization. Characters reverse decisions between scenes without explanation, repeat things they've just said in previous chapters, or make nonsensical choices (such as demanding answers, being given a book and told it has those answers, and immediately ignoring it for two chapters and causing a pointless death before just... reading it anyway.) The gore is lovingly described, but the monster is uninspired design and the rules of its behavior are inconsistent as presented here.

If you want a kinda dumb monster book, this one exists and it's okay. That's all I got for ya, I'm afraid.

This was a good read for me, I liked the different points of views and monster story. It gets more gory as the book moves on. I wouldn’t say it’s extreme but it’s not tame either. Being from a young teens view makes it a little different. I had a few questions at the end but overall the storytelling was vivid and not too many or little details. I am excited to read the second!
