Publisher's summary

Running a paranormal inn is going to run Holly right out of her mind.

The ink on the contracts is dried and the first batch of guests are set to arrive. There's no turning back. But when a dead body shows up in the flower beds the morning before opening day, it's going to take all hands - and paws - on deck to set things right.

Will the opening of the inn be the start to a new chapter or the ending of the whole book?

Trouble Checks In

We pick up with Holly and Adam exactly where we left on dealing with plenty of trouble trying to establish their Inn. Trouble turns from bad to worse when the backyard becomes a crime scene after a body is found. This action happens parallel to family friends visiting and all the various character members navigating personal relationships and career possibilities. This book you really feel the set up for the upcoming end of the series. Volume 12 "Goodbye's a Witch" is due to come out April 30, 2021 to wrap up this series. The legwork for this closeout pokes through a little in this tale as all the characters seem to be contemplating where they want to be. Holly continues to be her hot headed self struggling to have any aspect of her life change in any way. There are always the moments of Holly recklessly endangering herself and realizing these are cozy mysteries and not police procedurals so of course some of the case happenings don't seem to make sense. Just last story they mentioned they use truth serum so it makes it super confusing to ever have tension around holding the wrong person for a crime when you can just give them a serum where they have to tell the truth. But again these stories are fun, light, entertaining, and engaging. There are far less cringe moments then when this series began and Holly even has moments of self reflection. Holly and these characters have clearly grown over the course of 10+ volumes which is gratifying. I will forever be spoiled by the amazing duo of Danielle and Amanda that bring the words to life and the world real. I am excited to see how Danielle's other two new series fair as compared to these (Sugar Shack Witch Mysteries has already started releasing and Magic Inn Paranormal Mysteries is set to release in June 2021), but it will be a little sad to see this leg of Beechwood finish up. Another one for fans to enjoy as things start to wind down.

TRULY ENJOYED THIS BOOK

I ENJOY THE WHOLE SERIES AND LOVE FOLLOWING THE DEVELOPMENT AND STORIES OF THESE CHARACTERS. THERE ARE LOTS OF POTENTIAL CHANGES FOR THIS GROUP, BUT PLEASE DON'T BREAK UP THE GANG OR END THE SERIES. THESE ARE GREAT READS.

I can see the beginning of the end.. spoilers

It will be difficult to not look forward to future adventures as this book begins to set the stage for the Gang going their separate ways.

Nick going to work for the SPA
Evangaline engaged to Teddy and likely moving away.

I do look forward to... FINALLY... a wedding

Beechwood Harbor has become my little vacation from reality visiting all my supernatural friends. From witches and shifters to ghosts and humans.

I will miss Holly and Adam as central characters.
