You Shook Me Howl Night Long (Camp Shifter Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 533 ratings

Eliot “Pole” Elianzo is a god in college football, and he knows it. Too bad he’s also a polar bear. The Morph happens on national television, right after a pro team picks him in the draft. It’s official–Pole is a shifter. And boy, is he livid. He can’t choose practice over his mandatory stay at Camp Shifter, but he sure can make camp a nightmare for everyone. Especially the hot ash blonde who’s teaching Undressed in Public 101 classes. Risa Devaneau can’t believe Pole’s in her class, in the first row, and very, very undressed. The former sportscaster and wolf shifter ran away from her testosterone-filled career for the quiet peace of Camp Shifter. Sure, teaching people how to be undressed in public isn’t exactly the most prestigious job, but it got her away from the city. From her overly controlling politician father. From her past. From Pole. And here he is, smirking at her, front and center. In his birthday suit. ----- You Shook Me Howl Night Long is book 2 in the Camp Shifter series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why not enjoy them all?

DJ Jennings (Darla) has done it again, written another great shifter story. I love that her stories all have a very sexy shifter male, and a sexy shifter female, and they become fated mates. This story about Pole getting his second chance at love with Risa, held this readers interest, because it was well written, and had elements of lust, love, intrigue, danger, and family interactions. Risa finally learned to stand up to her father and found out a lot of truths about the connections between him, her mother, and Pole. I will always read any book written by Darla ( aka Julia Kent), and now wait for the next shifter book.

A story of love and family. The family is important in this book. Her family is a mixed up mess, and his family welcomes her with a open heart.
You will want to read this book!

I think this was written for early 20’s aged readers. The plot is straight forward with an overly manipulative controlling father. A misunderstood star football player whose goal is to protect his family and the love of his life who he had to give up. A weak kneed daughter who learns to stand up for herself and then recognizes how she was lied too. Throw in rampant sexual content and you have this book.

Excellent book! You could feel the turmoil that each couple felt when they were dealing with being accepted as a shifter and trying to find their true mate. If there wad such a place as Camp Shifter it would be an excellent place for people to learn to be a shifter and how to e accepted in society.

I fell in love with D.J. Jennings in Random Acts of Crazy. After devouring that series, I found this series. The journey of Pole and Reis is intense, sexy, heartbreaking and funny. I can't wait for the next book💜 I haven't read a book I didn't like by Julia Kent. This was a great break from reality.

Oh how I love these stories and how everything come to fruition.
Pole and Risa have a past, and not all of it is rainbows and sunshine. A secret threatens to tear everything apart until the truth finally comes out.

    🥰🥰🥰
A brilliant second book in the Camp Shifter series.
Risa and Pole are great characters. Full of history and pain the tension between them is palpable.
Add to the mix Risas father, Poles family and a miriad of secrets in both sides tensions are sure to rise and overflow.
I loved this book, the character interactions and story detail.
I highly recommend this book and author.

Knowing this is a book supposedly written by a character of another book (or series of books), the incredibly complex personality of Darla shines through, bringing all the strong will and depth of emotional heat that flows through the Random series.
Julia Kent's wit, insight on life and all its pitfalls and possibilities, and oddly empathetic concentration on self importance in a harsh world all combine to create a believable series of interactions in a paranormal world. This same invented world has obvious hints and blatant insertion of various characters and situations from Darla's life, creating a triple layer of creativity,
    - "real" author writing in "invented character" author's writing of her book during her "life" in the Random series.
It was so much fun to find the various points of Darla's life appear in Darla's story!
