York (Skin Walkers Book 9) Kindle Edition
Sky Brookes is searching for her sister in a foreign land when she’s abducted by a handsome stranger. York claims he’s rescuing her, but last time she checked white knights didn’t drug the damsel in distress and haul them off. Besides, Sky’s too tough to need anyone’s help. She’ll find her sister on her own even if York refuses to leave her side. Cocky and independent, Sky’s got it all figured out until she encounters a strange species that mistakenly think she’s the key to something called Skin Walker procreation. Reluctantly, she’ll have to rely on York for protection. When Sky discovers that York is a Skin Walker, her fear and anger threaten to take her from York before he’s even had a chance to claim her.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTwo people who need to be loved for the people they are. Sky is a human woman searching for her sister. Big Red (York) is a skin walker sent to find Sky and bring her to her sister. But evil has found Sky first and Big Red must ensure her safety and find a way to secure her love. Neither are easy tasks. I really liked Big Red. He is a strong man who is gentle with the woman he loves. But I felt for him because he needed to be loved so badly, but it just never seemed to happen for him. I kept wanting him to have everything his heart desired. I guess that is one of the things that make a great author. Writing characters that readers fall in love with.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseFinally, a Walker who is not afraid to get his angel! I loved York in this story. He knew what he wanted .. his mate / angel ... and no one or nothing could change his mind. We didn't have to deal with the struggle of a male not ready for his mate but having no choice because of the natural pull and possessiveness toward his angel. I felt that Sky's personality shifted in the story. She starts off as a woman who wasn't "Shy" and didn't take s****from anybody. When York first sees her, she is defending herself against a man and when the police arrive she uses York's back as a stepping stone to launch off on and get away. At the last minute she turns and gives York a smile and a wink before exiting. So I saw her as a person who could hold her own if need be, but when she finds out about shapeshifters, she becomes a damsel in distress. It's like a total turn around in her personality. She cries often and is afraid for York to leave her alone. She almost becomes wimpy. Some of her fighting spirit does come back toward the end of the story. I enjoyed this book. A new breed was also introduced in this story, the Keepers, don't think I'm too crazy about the leader (Fatal) but would like to read more about Rohm.

I have been DYING for York's story since we were introduced to him in Conn's which was technically the first released in this series. I know Susan did some changing around with the order, which is fine, but whatever. SIX BOOKS LATER AND I WAS NO DISAPPOINTED (nor i am ever going to stop reading Susan's stuff)
Song Choice: "Atlantis" by Ellie Goulding, "All Of Me" by John Legend
First thoughts: YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!! this is what I have been waiting for!! I loved that action, the romance, I love that this wasn't like the other boys who were all pouty about having found their angel, York who so deserved one forevers finally got his girl!! AHHH YAY!!! I am so happy for him its a bit ridiculous....of course the whole time I kept muttering...he should have been mine...and he should have been mine. :( *pouts*
Thoughts on Plot: EEEP!! I have missed the action in these series and boy did I get it in this one!! Not only do old enemies appear, but new creatures show up and damn if I don't want to know more about them, to find out if they are allies or enemies, if they are allies, are they getting their own series? if they are enemies are they getting their own series? ;) The romance between York and Sky wasn't rushed nor did it feel forced. I really yeah... I love York, and omgosh!! He is a dirty talker!!! TMI....SORRY. Anyways excellent it moved really well, and I couldn't put it down! well besides when i WASN'T ;) reading it at work and had to set it down to take care of costumers even then i wanted to pick it right back up and continue on!!!
Characters:
York: well if you haven't caught on I am in love with this man, I have been forever, I mean what more do you want? Not only is a sweetheart, but he has a tragic past, but it doesn't define him, he is a flaming red-head, built, tattoos, originally from Ireland, did I meant dirty talker? MOTHER OF ALL THINGS JUST GIVE HIM TO ME ALREADY!!!
Sky: If you don't know is Shy's twin sister, and like most twins (i can honestly say this because i am a twin) is nothing like her twin, they just happen to look a lot a like. Sky is bad-ass and isn't afraid to admit that she can and will take care of herself, but she also knows when she is over her head which i appreciate. She has insecurities and I loved her all the more for it because it made her feel really, real to me. I really liked her as an MC
The ending: Awesome.
also REDKNIFE NEXT?!?!?! YES??!?!?! YES?!?!?!?! YESSSSS!!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love all the Skin Walker books. I believe that Ms. Bliler has a great twist on the same-old same-old shifter story. I say that in all of my reviews, but I am right! She does do an awesome job on an old story line. And this book was no exception. Very few can write an alpha male like Ms. Bliler, and her men are always the right blend of everything. I might not always like her heroines, but oh well. The storyline (and this book has some nice new editions to her Skin Walker world) moves very well and York is so scrumptious that he transcends words. Sky was ok for me, but not any kind of impediment. I felt as if Ms Bliler created Sky from parts of herself as there is something a tad different in this book than the other ones- I felt something very personal in Sky's creation.
And at the end? The glimpse into Red Knife?! I love both the Hero as well as the heroine. I am extremely impatient for this book to come out! Omg, please let it be soon!
This author and her books are always an automatic buy for me, and though she may not be perfect for some people she is perfect for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this series
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have been looking forward to York's story for some time, it was worth the wait. I loved York's character when we met him earlier in the series and am glad he found his angel in Sky. Sky is a very independent women and very different from her twin. The attraction between the two was fun to read and I found I did not want to put this book down until it was finished. I highly recommend the skin walkers series and look forward to tendencies story

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book was so good, filled with so much emotion. Both characters looking and wanting the same thing.. such a great read..
York was about to give up on finding his "Angel" his "One", he was starting to question if he was even lovable ... the woman he wanted to claim already belonged to another skinwalker, needing to get away York offered to search for her sister. Once he found the sister in the Philippines, at first sight he realized she was his "Angel" he has finally found his "One".
Sky was searching for her sister in the Philippines where she was told she went to work, not believing that said story she went searching for her cause she knew something was wrong.
Sky has always felt second best, never trusting others, shadow of her twin.. all she has wanted was to be loved...

4.0 out of 5 stars *Spoilers*!!!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI am not reading these books in order, mostly because some of the theme's are not what I'm in the mood to read, this one was and I must say I enjoyed it.
There are moments where Ms Bliler skirts close to my threshold on some things, but it's secondary characters that are causing it, so it doesn't harm my enjoyment of the story.

Love York, he's such a big cuddle bunny that I just want to hug the heck out of him. My only beef is (I really don't like the Keepers!) York vouches for Fatal to Monroe that he treated Sky honorable... NO he didn't, he threatened her and tossed her to one of his men and told him to force a mating and that was after he swore he would take care of her to York. So I didn't understand how that suddenly got pushed under the rug and forgotten. Not to mention that he openly admits to forcing women, and while Monroe does get all the females in his camp on high alert, I hate that something as horrendous as rape is excused and forgiven just because it is their way. Doesn't make it forgivable and it doesn't make it ok to be forming a friendship with rapist.
