Austin Dragon is the author of over 30 books in science fiction, fantasy, and classic horror.     You’ll Never See Starlight Again (Liquid Cool, Book 10) by Austin Dragon. Hey Cruz fans, welcome to the most dangerous case Liquid Cool Detective Agency has yet to take on. I want to talk about this caper, but you're just going to have to believe Cruz uses all his resources trying to keep the world a safer place. In true Cruz form, there are plenty of surprises. I kinda wish I could discuss the end but there is the whole spoiler thing to keep me quiet. So pick this one up and get to reading, I am sure you will like it. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

    For fans of the series, the name “Neurodancer” is a trigger for Cruz. Tough case and outcome, and his efforts to save the world from evil influences.
    Well, the object of that worry has come back.
    Pulling together all elements of Metropolis society (gangs, Big Corporate, and law enforcement) we are taken on a ride to see what force will win out. They all want a piece of Cruz, and he needs to be lucky and smart to survive being caught in the middle.

    I didn’t care for the last Liquid Cool novel UFO Files. So I was skeptical on starting reading Starlight. It’s great! Every outstanding writer (with two exceptions) has written at least one clinker. Mr. Dragon has gotten that out of the way, and is most definitely back to form in Starlight. Read it!

    This starts at a great pace. All the familiar side kicks are back on the scene and we feel like we are back where we belong (Despite the new attire….)
    Enjoyed it a lot but ultimately, for me, it didn’t deliver the final ‘punch’ at the end.
    It was teed up for a clever reveal that just didn’t materialise.

    A case of trying too hard rather than sticking to the successful formula which works so well.
    (It reminded me a bit of when a film franchise concentrates more on the action in sequels to the detriment of the plot)

    I’m still recommending because this is a good author producing quality books and I am sure there is plenty more to come.

    I really enjoy the world building in Liquid Cool. But the plot of this delivery seemed a little less cool than usual. Ironically, whilst finally wrapping up the Neuro Dancer case this book felt unfinished and a little rushed. I think Book 11 needs to look a-fresh at the Liquid cool universe.
