Going back to Lyrebird Lake is like visiting family for a hug and this time we get Emma’s story, she has come a long way since she was a teenage mum. Emma is now a fabulous mother to Grace and also a wonderful midwife at the maternity hospital there, but has an ongoing worry with a health risk that runs in the family, when Gianni comes to Lyrebird Lake to fill in at the hospital and sparks fly between them.

When Emma meets the gorgeous Italian doctor Gianni her heart flutters like never before she needs to get to know him there is a sadness she needs to understand and that means talking to the quiet gorgeous man. The pull towards him is real, but finding love is not what Emma is looking for she has her daughter and the worry of whether or not she is carrying the gene for Huntington’s disease. Seeing as how Gianni is only here for a short time maybe a weekend together will be enough.

Gianni carries a sadness with him and works hard helping out in disasters around the world and when his friend Angus asks him to help in Lyrebird lake for a short time he is more than happy to help and then he meets the beautiful Emma and she is breaking down the wall he has built around himself with her caring nature but Gianni wants more and a weekend together ignites a passion he has not felt before.

The night together was filled with passion and love but it also leaves Emma pregnant and now her worry about Huntington’s Disease becomes even more of a worry and Gianni is determined to be there for her and Grace and their baby. This is a beautiful story filled with feeling and emotion, wonderfully written, Fiona McArthur knows how to dig deep and pull readers in to make them feel like family to the characters that she has bought to life. I shed a few tears at the start that was beautifully done, I loved this story and I highly recommend this one and the series.

My thanks to the Author for a copy to read and review.

What an incredible story of fortitude and love. Emma and Gianni had an attraction right for the beginning, but it took an almost disaster before Emma would acknowledge that she was in love with Gianni.
