A Banishing of Kings (Realm Breaker Book 2) Kindle Edition
"[B]rings you such phenomenal dragons that your jaw will be on the floor."
Don't attack riders. Don't break dragonposts. Above all, never test the Order.
Skálda Branwright has been betrayed by the Republic. Her dreams of building realms burned in an elvish campaign she was never meant to survive - one that the Dragonsteel Order will fight to keep secret at all costs.
But the rules in the Deep North's wilderness are different. Outside the bounds of elvish rule, she may make her own.
Elondria faces the beginning of another continental war - with Skálda and Bale at the center. The time has come for the first rider in all history to dare ride a Bael into battle.
To protect her dragon and the free peoples of the North from the Order, Skálda will have no choice but to break. She will break many, many things... and herald a Second Breaking of the Realms sooner than she could have ever imagined.

About the author

Jasmine was thirteen when she first dreamed of becoming published after devouring Eragon in a few days on Grandma's couch. As a nerdy introvert, her exposure to fantasy started with hiding out in the library with a great book.
Thirteen years later, her tomboy dreams came true.
Today, she is known worldwide as a part time beach hermit and a full time rebel. She is also the proud mother of two young children, Bubble and Mochi. Both happen to be little birds. The happy family currently resides in paradise, aka. Florida.
When she’s not reminiscing about her gaming days or getting lost in old epics like LOTR, Jasmine writes epic fantasy to entertain and empower, especially the underdogs.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2023Book one ended with complete chaos and our jaws on the floor. Collectively shocked at how things ended and the wondering of what happened to Skalda! Did she survive? Will she make it? Will her dragon? Tons of questions and nothing but the demand that we wait to find out. Well, the wait is over!! The time is now and the answers are at hand!
Well, of course, Skalda survived. Where would the series be without her? Well, it could forge on in a different angle, but it wouldn't be the same. But honestly, if your hair didn't stand on end reading the blurb, then you probably don't have any. LOL! Because the blurb shows that this book promises chaos, drama, and lots of epic awesomeness to be found! Trust me when I say this...you are going to de-vour this book. It will not let you put it down until you reach the final page.
Skalda has such an epic future ahead of her, but she's going to have to fight every step of the way to get there. What lies ahead? Staying one step ahead of the Dragonsteel Order. Well, that won't be easy, but she'll have some breathing room since they don't think she assumed the initial attack she was caught up in. But once news spreads...well, all bets are off.
Skalda's continued story is hair-raisingly good. It's an epic fantasy page-turner that you hunt for in the hopes of finding it by looking through so many other books. If you love dragons, well developed characters, engaging storylines, and grand world-building then this is the book/series for you. Grab it now and don't miss out!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2024Book one started out slowly and gained powerful momentum. With Book two, the momentum continues to Build. The action is intense, unflinching and naratively compelling. Being Great and being Good - is it possible to be both? Even when being either means doing whatever it takes to overcome transcendant evil? The existential questions/torments/challenges emerge from kinesthetic, viseral realities rather than philosophical pontification. I am going to read more.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2024I’ve been a voracious reader since the time I first learned to read. Sometimes I have 2 books going at one time - I’m addicted I guess. I love dragon books! This one challenged me in a way I haven’t been challenged since I was younger & was graduating to more subtle story plots - plots where I didn’t always understand what was happening or why. This book was like that for me - I had to go back & re-read portions until I found the thread (I think) again!! That aspect of this book grabbed my curiosity & interest as nothing else can! A few times I was tempted to give up, but I’m stubborn, & this book is well worth the challenge! I’m excited to go on to the next book! I highly recommend this book & kudos to Jasmine Young! Thank you!!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2024This book was really goof. I like how the characters personalities or relationships change based on circumstances. You don't see a lot of those characters in books. Allies who become enemies or vice versa. But that's a reality of life, so I it's nice to see it displayed well in her books.
Skalda was a more sympathetic character in this book. She was a bit easier to root for.
Editing was better in book 1. Some noticeable grammatical errors. Also Bale's gender flip flops from male to female.
Definitely worth the read. I have pre-ordered book 3 and am looking forward to its release.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2025My one complaint - you can only decapitate a head, NOT a hand. This series, otherwise, is growing on me. Intriguing world and characters. Just don't do a JRR Martin and kill all the good ones off!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2024Well developed story. All involved are well developed great back ground. Looking forward to the following books. Recommend it to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deep Bonds and Unexpected Twists
"A Banishing of Kings" by Jasmine Young is a captivating read! Following Skalda on her journey of self-discovery and growth was truly inspiring. Bale, a Bael who resembles a dragon but is his own unique species and the last of his kind, added a fascinating layer to the story. His determination to break away from his destructive heritage and fight his own traumas was moving. Their bond only deepens as the story progresses, with plenty of shocking moments that left me stunned. The companionship between rider and "dragon" is beautifully portrayed, and the realistic love interest was a refreshing change from typical fantasy tropes. This second book in the Realm Breaker series is packed with adventure and heart. Highly recommend it to any fantasy lover!

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb
Another excellent book from Jasmine Young. A spellbinding tale of destiny and magic that'll make your heart skip a beat. It's beautifully written. Power, friendship, loyalty and undying love between dragons and their riders are what make this book outstanding!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story but needs a good copyedit.
Plot, characters and world are well defined, and it is a good read with consistent development of the world and the characters. The books are let down considerably by the language used, with lots of erroneous word usage - I think the Author is trying for a level of erudite, literary or archaic language that she hasn't mastered.
Identification with the main character is not quite there, and particularly annoying are the wildly negative and completely unwarranted soliloquies that often end a chapter.
Still, overall worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Banishing of Kings
Even better than the first book! Skalda is becoming more powerful and so is Bale. There is lots of action and more characters to love and hate. The Order is starting to show their true colors. Can't wait for the next book!
