A Fresh Trail
Publisher Description
A Fresh Trail is a black and white photo-illustrated prose poem. The author and award-winning mobile photographer, Meri Aaron Walker, used only her iPhone to capture images from a sola hike in the mountains above Ashland, Oregon, and knit them together with a few words about the changes in consciousness she began experiencing moving into a small, rural area after a lifetime of big city living. The book is a meditation on finding one’s way alone in midlife. A first edition was published in 2017 using the mobile app Steller. This second edition, published July 2024, was recompiled using Book Creator on a MacBookPro. This edition is comprised of screen shots made using an iPhone 13Pro and edited slightly with Photomator to increase their clarity and resolution.
