Mystery.Intrigue.Romance

I write romantic adventure novels inspired by my love of history, particularly British.

I was born near Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood, but now live in Australia. From here I re-imagine the fascinating world of the Regency and the Victorians, perhaps inspired by early memories of ancient architecture, cold seas, and snow.

I also love learning Latin (yes really) and the philosophy of the Stoics, AMOR FATI, or LOVE OF FATE. So love and other catastrophes feature heavily in my stories.

First, let me say that I received an early review copy of this book, for my honest opinion of it, so here it is.
The premise of this book, that two unrelated people could look so much alike as to fool even their closest relatives and friends is a fun idea to me. I’ve never seen a “doppelgänger” myself, but enjoyed how these two men even shared the same smug grin. How Lord John thought Rigal could fool even his mistress was a bit simple minded, but then again, refer back to that egotistical mind.
This story had some fun twists to it, and except for just a few minor things that might have knocked 1/2 a star off, I had fun reading this book. When I absolutely had to stop reading, I looked forward to getting back to the characters, to see what would happen next. That is how much I enjoyed this story!

I totally enjoyed this book. The entire written was enthralling. I read it and finished it in one reading. The setting, dialogue, storyline and characters were so mixed and relatable. Tristan was my idea of a great man. He was flawed but had a sense of equality. John was shady but aristocratic. Poppy was delightful. This was a wonderfully written book

This book is about Tristan Rigal, a spy for England and Poppy Woods, bastard sibling of Lord John Nazenby. Tristan looks remarkably like Lord John, why is that? Poppy is treated no better than a maid by Lord John though sometimes she isn't, why is that? When Tristan and Lord John change places, the fun begins. While I liked this book there were some parts that were slow and too long worded. I didn't like the relationship Lord John had with Poppy, just kinda weird to me. Just didn't read like the regency books I usually read. I received a free copy of this book for my honest review.
