This first story introduces a new series , Cypress Security as well as the members of the company. A company created by Ross Carpenter, former Special Forces.
When he agreed to retrieve a person for his new client, he never expected it to be Allie Williams. His BF and sweetheart from HS who turned her back to him. Or so he thought.
Allie Williams is running for her life after she took evidence from the pharmaceutical she worked at. Evidence that disclosed the deadly side effects of a new drug, as well as possible money laundering.
From the moment these two meet again, the sparks are there, but so is the hurt from the past.
Danger follows them from that point on. Will they survive the danger? If so, will they each go their separate ways at the end, or will they get a second chance in life and love?
A good start to the series.

When you know who the bad guy is becareful because you never who is going to come after you.

He was hired to get information until he finds out who it is. When he finds out it is high school sweetheart he is there to protect and get the information she has.

Allie and Ross what will happened to them once they get the man after Allie.
Will they stay together and work together.
This is an easy read. Characters are match together to make them work together.
I enjoyed this read and drew me right in.

He hasn't seen her since high school where they were dating and he joined the military. Neither have forgot the other but because of inference they thought the other didn't care. He was protecting her against people trying to kidnap her and thinking murdering her to get information she stole to prove the company was wrong.

This book has suspense, intrigue, twists, turns, emotions and a second chance at love.

Two characters that have a past.

Allie,
on the run, Evidence that there's something fishey going on within the company she works for.
Someone's out to get her. Because she may know too much and sometimes. Knowing too much can get you Hurt or worse.

When you least expect it..
Knowing who the bad guy is.. Well you have to watch every step.. Because you never know who it may be..
That person you never thought. Would do something like this.

Hired to protect. only has his best interest in his job and everyone involved..

Ross and alley.
Now these two knew each other as children.
they have a past...

This was a fast read a short read a perfect read..
If military romance is your thing, this is the perfect read...

Overall I enjoyed this book. I did wish there had been more juicy love scenes and felt like there could have been more to Ross's back story. That said I liked the story line, there were several twists that i didn't expect. Can't wait for the next in the series!

Allie has owned his heart since they were teenagers but they were torn apart, both thought the other had broken their promise...neither had. With Allie on the run and her life targeted more than once we get an intriguing mix of close escapes, digging into the investigation and working through the emotions, misunderstandings and dreams of their past. Ross has found himself in a very awkward position with his head and his heart having opposite opinions. He tries to deny to himself the feelings Allie stirs up, he is determined to stay professional but fate has other plans for them both and I love seeing them finally admit their feelings and embrace their love. It's a very rocky path, packed with obstacles and trip hazards but this only helps bring them closer together as they support each other through the good times and the bad, the terror and the heartache, the joy and the pain.
This is a fantastic new series which I read on Kindle Unlimited, I look forward to the next books.
