    This fascinating book reveals what life in the sex industry (primarily as a stripper) is really like.

    It describes the undeserved stigma that they have to put up with, the camaraderie, and the ups and downs of the author's own life.

    It's also incredibly touching in parts, bringing tears to my eyes.

    I highly recommend it.

    Annie Temple has given us an entertaining, revealing and fascinating look at her life as a sex worker and exotic dancer. I loved how she pulled aside a curtain to show life in a profession we know little about. Her personal journey also is endearing and the details of her life an exotic dancer is a delight. While we learn the rules of pole dancing, Ms. Temple puts a human face on sex work during a time of sexual revolution. This memoir is a great companion piece to Jane Kamensky's bio of porn star revolutionary Candida Royale.

    This book captivated me from the start. The author draws you into her life and her experiences. This is by no means a dry dissertation of events, which themselves would be interesting enough, but rather is a fully relatable story in the very best sense of the word.

    I would have read the whole book in one sitting except that I forced myself to draw it out since I quickly discerned that this book should be savoured, not rushed! For me, this was an opportunity to share in a life very different from mine. Perishing few books have done that for me.

    In summary, I very strongly recommend this book.
