Anti-Stepbrother Kindle Edition
He asked what was wrong with me.
He called me an easy target.
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.
He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.
Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.
I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

Tijan, you have once again blew my ever-lovin mind and have presented me with characters that I can't help but love and wish to meet (especially the cover model ;) ). Why do you write such amazingness????
No, but literally guys and gals... this is a MUST read for anyone who likes romance but is maybe a little bored with all the cliches out there. One thing Tijan does not write is romance cliches and this book proves it! How more un-cliche can you get with a title like "Anti-Stepbrother"? And for those who are a little uncertain about the whole stepbrother romance possibility in this book... don't worry, this book is definitely worth the read no matter what preconceptions you might have going in.
The best thing about this book is the characters and their relationships. Like ultimate relationship goals in this book! Summer goes to college not expecting to find what's she looking for in someone who is the opposite of what she wants. And yet the relationship with her stepbrother reaches uneven ground and she finds herself leaning on someone different then she expected. I don't want to give any spoilers away so I'm going to leave this little blurb ambiguous... ;)
But seriously, I am in LOVE with these characters! Summer, is one of the best characters I've read about in a while because she isn't "fake" or doesn't try too hard to fit in with the other girls. Also, she doesn't let people run over her or take advantage. She's pretty honest with herself and what she wants out of life and this trait is SO admirable. I really loved her character because of all the things she says in the most random moments. This is a character who has a whole unique personality and perspective of life and the added humor this creates in the novel literally makes my idea every time I read it!
(I might have already read and re-read this book...)
A little added humor can turn a tragic story into something hopeful and even redeemable. The series I know best by Tijan is Fallen Crest High, where the majority of the book is very dark and often twisted... I love that series don't get me wrong, but the added humor in Anti-Stepbrother puts this book on another level for me and I really wish I could give this book six stars.
Overall, this is a book you NEED to read if you love romance or love interesting and unique characters. I pre-ordered this book and I'm so glad that I got a paperback copy because this is a book that I will go back and read and read and read again when I need a pick-me-up or just something fun and relaxing after a stressful day! This is THE BOOK to read so don't forget to purchase your own copy!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2017I don't normally write reviews. I tend to read too many books to get a review up in time before I'm already knee deep into another novel. I decided to write one today because I'm a tad bit disappointed in this book. Don't get me wrong, I liked it but I so wished I loved it.
Let me first start by saying I had this book on my reading list for awhile. I finally decided to buy it and started it a couple of nights ago. I was a tad confused (for some reason I didn't realize Kevin was her step-brother when I read the synopsis) and didn't get where Caden came in. But I kept on reading hoping that maybe I'd get there early enough in the book that I wouldn't lose interest. I didn't.. Great News!
Here's where I got lost. The writing for me was very juvenile. I liked Summer's character and how she was awkward and just said random things. She seemed normal, fun to be around. That wasn't the issue. Kevin had no personality and his character to me was just weird. Pointless. But the issue I had was really with the story telling. There were times when I literally stopped reading to say WTF? The storylines blended, there were times when I had no idea who the hell was talking. It was literally just a bunch of words thrown on a page. It reminded me of all those times when I'm talking to my 10 year old and he's trying to tell me a story. Basically there were times when I felt like a 10 year old wrote the book. It seems to be heavily done in the beginning in the book or maybe by the end I was used to her writing skills but I struggled for a couple of days.
I continued to read the book and I did enjoy it. By the end, the writing seemed clearer. I wasn't confused on who was speaking and I liked the storyline. I'm giving this book 4 stars because of that. I loved the concept of the story. I loved Caden and I did really like Summer and her fun, quirky, awkward character. I just wished the writing was cleaner and that it wasn't so jumbled. I also wished that she focused more on her mom and Colton. These were great storylines to get us more involved in the two main characters. Kevin shouldn't have been a priority and the whole Marcus and Maggie thing was just odd.
I wish I had better things to say. Loved the idea just wished it was thought out better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!
Caden is one of my favorites from Tijan. He’s amazing and summer is hilarious.
I really like the contrast of how they coped with their griefs. One choose to feel and the other to hide. Her obsession with Kevin was so clear, because nothing in him was appalling, he was insensitive, a class A jerk and above all a horrible person.
It was clear that she didn’t love him and Caden was the one who guided her realize the truth. What she really needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing....
I don't normally leave reviews, I don't know what to say most of the time.
But have to say I love this book, could not put it down everytime I read it (which was alot) reading about how the characters got to the point that they loved each other kept me wanting to continue reading til I was done.
Would like more from the male characters point of view, and more in the ending but was still a great read 📚

Das Buch nachzu am selben Tag durchgelesen...
And another great book by Tijan.
I can’t remember a book I read that I didn’t like. Rockstars, Contemporary, Paranormal, High School, College, Mafia related, Friends to Lovers… you name it, she wrote it.
Always with the right amount of drama for my taste (for some maybe too much).
So this book is a Friends to Lovers Collage Romance with a lots of Drama, that follows Summer at her freshman year studying sports medicine.
Summer is in love with her Stepbrother Kevin for the last two years. Back in High School Kevin was the most popular guy at school and every girl was in love with him. Now Summer is at the same College as Kevin (he is on his second year) and hopes that now is the time where she can be with him.
Summer was always a little wired and awkward with the boy. This did not really change at college.
And I have to say I loved that the most about her. She made me laugh or shake my head of amusement more than ones. She really was something else (again, for some maybe too much).
Kevin is the standard douche back every girl falls for and you can’t understand why (or most of the guys can’t understand why girls fall for him).
Summer went earlier to college so she can be with Kevin. So she goes at her first night to a party at his fraternity house. She wasn’t prepared to see Kevin there making out with another girl, cause on her graduation day there was more than just kissing between them…
So she flew head over heels out of the basement, where Kevin was making out with that girl and ran into a wall of a man, alpha male Caden Banks. Who is in the same fraternity as Kevin and some kind of a leader there.
Over the next days Summer and Caden run a few times into each other and became friends.
Here is where I stop, because the reading experience would not be the same.
As always, all the twists and turns are more enjoyable when they hit you out of the blue :)
