    So far the suspense built into these books and baked into the main and supporting characters is amazing. The ending was f each story doesn’t leave you hanging on a ledge so to speak. You get a soft landing, but with the explicit expectation that the next plot will ratchet up the heat for Hal, Brightsong, and the rest of Aldim. More of Mira’s secret gradually unraveling and one can’t help but wonder what role she’s played in other Worldshards. On to the next book for me. This is an Epic Tale.

    This one was really the end of one arc and/or the beginning of a new arc. Hal ties up a lot of issues that have been plaguing him for awhile, and just generally sets things up for the story to continue. There was some crafting advancements, some leveling, and just general movement forward to tidy things up. As such some people might complain about the comparative lack of action. But this was needed to get things rolling for the further books. Definitely enjoyed it, now sadly the wait for the next book.

    So so happy for this next instalment. This is one of my favourite series I’m reading right now and while worth the wait, I can’t wait for more.

    I feel like this book focused a lot less on our supporting characters and focused mostly on the main. I love the growth, and look forward to where it goes next. I hope to see more of the rest next, but I like what I’ll call a good training arc novel.

    Another great addition to the story. Although separated Hal and Bessal are still fighting the same opponent. Base building, class advances several dungeon dives and Hal starts to recruit from strange quarters. Considering the number of monsters he's worked with this is not much of a surprise. Several of the problems that have crippled his advancement are delt with and he is starting to learn from the 2 dragons who are living in the area. The relationship with the dragons is amusing. If he wasn't already in a relationship I'd think he had a chance. We get more information about the Shards and the greater war that is going on. Looking forward to what happens next.
