Blood Victory: A Burning Girl Thriller (The Burning Girl Book 3) Kindle Edition
On a cross-country journey to hell, fear is the engine and vengeance is the destination as Christopher Rice’s Amazon Charts bestselling series continues.
As the test subject of an experimental drug, Charlotte Rowe was infused with extraordinary powers. As the secret weapon of a mysterious consortium, she baits evil predators and stops them in their tracks. But it takes more than fear to trigger what’s coursing through Charlotte’s blood. She needs to be terrorized. Serial killer Cyrus Mattingly is up to the task.
Cyrus is a long-haul truck driver, and his cargo bay is a gallery of horrors on wheels. To stop his bloodshed, Charlotte will become his next victim, reining in her powers so she can face each of his evils in turn.
As much as they know about Cyrus—his method of selecting victims, his prolonged rituals—there is something they don’t. What happens on the dark and lonely highways is only the journey. It’s the destination that’s truly depraved. Before she can unleash vengeance on a scale this killer has never seen, Charlotte and her team will have to go the distance into hell.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2023Blood Victory by Christopher Rice is a thrilling and action-packed novel that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from start to finish. The third installment in the Burning Girl series, this book follows the journey of Charlotte Rowe, a test subject of an experimental drug that gives her extraordinary powers. As she uses her abilities to bait and stop evil predators, the reader is taken on a wild ride filled with tension and excitement.
Rice’s writing is fast-paced and engaging, making it difficult to put the book down. The development of Charlotte’s character is well-done, and her journey is both emotional and satisfying. The plot is filled with twists and turns, keeping the reader guessing until the very end.
Overall, “Blood Victory” is a fantastic addition to the Burning Girl series and a must-read for fans of thrillers with a touch of science fiction. Rice’s storytelling skills are on full display in this novel, and it’s sure to leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series. Highly recommended!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2020Rice’s The Burning Girl series is one of my favorites as it is very unique. The books center around Charley Rowe the only woman who survived being given a dose of an experimental drug. A dose of the drug transforms her from normal to indestructible with a time limit. She uses this ability to hunt down serial killers, as her mother was the victim of one. Since this is the third book in the series it is definitely not a standalone novel and the prior books are all must reads, as there are a ton of character dynamics which make this series so enjoyable.
The physical tension/threat in this book isn’t as palpable as in the previous books, but it doesn’t diminish the plot of hunting down a serial killer. As what the hunt unveils is half the fun. The characters of Charlie, Luke, Cole and Noah really drive the book; and it’s their personal conflicts that have me coming back for more each time. Bailey, who’s is Luke’s brothers, role has been expanded. Even the intended victim in this book is given a unique voice.
There is gory and scary violence in the book, but the violence is for a reason. Charley isn’t hunting the Easter Bunny, and using herself for bait does put her in violent situations.
Rice’s writing pulled me into the book immediately. His use of both present and past character recollections is seamless. It provides depth to his characters even the blood thirsty serial killers. His killers are never caricatures, as he gives them their own twisted motivations.
There is also intimate relationships in the book which are not gratuitous, but are written with passion and heat.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series. It take the thriller/mystery genre to unique and thoroughly thrilling new level.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2020By most accounts this is the final title in the exciting and entertaining “Burning Girl Trilogy”. I will say from the get-go that although I thoroughly enjoyed this installment, I have a greater adoration for the first two installments. This volume didn’t spend nearly as much time with the protagonist (Charlotte Rowe - Charley) as it had in the first two. But did Christopher entertain, stimulate and prompt excitement, wonder and an air of mystery for his readers through his prose? The short answer is absolutely. As is usual with all the previous reads by this talented and skillful author I was beyond the bounds of entertainment. A big fan, I am always anxious for his next publication. Worthy of your time and I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this story and I love the characters.
This is book #3 in the “A Burning Girl” series where Charlotte is hunting serial killers,
with intriguing plots and characters, a mix of thriller, horror and supernatural elements,
and some very unpleasant miscreants getting what they deserve.
If you’re able to stomach the gore and the disturbing scenes
this series provides great detail.
.
This was an experimental read for me because I never read thrillers with sci-fi elements.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good series
This is the third book in the series and, keeps moving at a fast pace. Not realistic but, I knew that before I embarked on the trilogy. Would recommend this to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary.
