Bo Next Door: An MM Rock Star Romance (Love Bank Romance Book 2) Kindle Edition
Sometimes the one you were hoping for is right next door.
Ian enjoys the spotlight, the band, the fans—everything he’s worked hard to get. But very few people know the man under the fierce makeup and loud clothes.
Bodhi is excited for a fresh start in a new town where no one knows his past. Thanks to his hyper but lovable dog, Ollie, Bo runs into the hot and mysterious guy next door. His attraction to Ian is immediate, but dating his neighbor is a big risk.
Ian wants more than the casual hookups he’s been enjoying. Bo next door, with his crazy dog, makes him think it could be possible. Fame and notoriety bring challenges though, will it prove too much for Bodhi to handle?
The Love Bank Romance series features stand-alone stories that can be read individually, but I recommend reading the series to see your favorite characters again.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2024Amazon CustomerFormat: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother chapter out of the Crow’s Nest that will warm your heart. Another exploration of a long vilified and very misunderstood aspect of gender identity. Without preaching, the focus of the characters giving back more than being totally self consumed is incredibly effective. And the wild canine that most wouldn’t give a second chance too, will steal your heart.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2022Amazon CustomerFormat: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was another low angst cute romance between Ian (the lead singer Crow) and Bodhi, the boy next door. We get some reoccurring characters but it's really a stand alone. You don't have to have read the previous one to understand this one at all. While I enjoyed the story, I just felt that there was a depth missing. Bodhi has left his home town for a fresh start working at an animal rescue/shelter and Ian is working to get his band off the ground. Ian mentioned at the beginning that he wanted to go slow to lay some ground work and then the next time they they go all the way. I do like steamy books, but it just feel a bit rushed. They hadn't really been on many dates yet nor had they really really gotten to know each other yet. I also felt that the pacing was off at times. Some details were a bit drawn out that really could've been condensed and yet I would've liked to have seen more instances of Ian and Bo dating. It was sweet but I think there was potential for more depth emotionally. It's kind of closer to a 3.5 read but I rounded up because I really liked Bo and his sister Lane.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2022Amazon CustomerFormat: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was such a refreshing story. I love that whether it comes to friends or relationships, they recognize the need for communication and respect. There are so many healthy boundaries, even if it just involves giving the other person time and space to process their emotions. The bunk bed scene where they’re being vulnerable is probably my favorite, followed by Ian admitting that maybe his own stresses are clouding his judgment of Wyatt and the whole band’s ability to come together and look out for each other. For them to step up and help Ian when he needs it and him to trust them. To do this thing that’s important to Bo but has such a positive impact for so many families. Plus, their banter is extremely funny.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2023Amazon CustomerFormat: KindleVerified PurchaseI read this book as part of the Trans Rights Readathon that is being held over on instagram untim march 27th I believe.
This book was the absolute CUTEST! I loved getting to witness Bo and Ian go from friends to lovers all because Ollie the ever wonderful dog lovingly attacked Ian one night on a walk. Watching them fall in love and getting to know each other was absolutely wonderful.
Getting to see Bo and Ian be vulnerable with each other and having that communication made this story so amazing. It was low angst with so much cuteness between these two characters. I couldn’t put it down.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2022Amazon CustomerFormat: KindleVerified PurchaseBo Next Door by Duckie Mack is a sweet romance between a rock star and a pet technician. Ian has two personas , on stage he's Crow lead singer of a rising indie band and off he's down to earth , slightly nerdy Ian. Ian has a new neighbor, Bodhi, and the two hit off right away. Bo like's Ian for who he is outside the rock star lifestyle, but when he gets a taste for that side will he be able to live with both personas. No matter how much Bo cares for Ian, he might not be able to handle the rock star spotlight.
Unfortunately , Bo Next Door didn't wow me. I didn't mesh with the author's writing style and found the story dragging at times. I liked both Bo and Ian, but Ian fell a bit flat for me. I was better able to connect with Bo, who's a Transgender male with a heart of gold. His whole demeanor, from being confident in the bedroom and a bit awkward out of it, to his adorable relationship with his crazy pup. Then outside our lead characters I found the supporting cast lacking, except for Bo's sister Lane, she was great.
All in all, Bo Next Door was a decent romance with Trans rep, a matchmaking pup, the importance of communication, volunteering, bunk beds, plenty of steam and a happily ever after.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2021Amazon CustomerFormat: PaperbackVerified PurchaseAs soon as I saw the paperback was available I hit the buy button. I needed this in my life and I devoured it as soon as I got my hands on it. Y'all it was so good! I loved Ian from All The Stars, so I'm glad to have his story too. He's not a typical rockstar. He's got layers ha. He and Bo are perfection. And Ollie the fluff is a perfect matchmaker ha. Uh, I squealed at the Zenon mention XD I loved how secure Bo is and how he took control in the bedroom and how that helped Ian chill out with the band. There was a great sprinkling of the other band members and cameos from Rider and Cam :D Also, that ending was perfection again.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2022Amazon CustomerFormat: KindleVerified PurchaseHmmm, maybe this is 3.5 stars. I liked Bodhi and Ian, but it all seemed rushed. It was like because they both liked the idea of love and were both ready for something significant they rushed in. I think the whole relationship happened in maybe a week and a half and they were already thinking love. I also felt like these were the most mature 22 and 23 year old men that I've ever read. It kind of worked considering their backgrounds and experiences, but it also made them feel older. Overall, I liked where the author was going with it but, I didn’t know if they really connected or if because they both wanted a person they fell into each other. Loved Lane and Ollie....and looking forward to the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boy next door meets rockstar!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read this in one day, only putting it down when I absolutely had to. A true boy next door, rockstar romance, sweetly and sensitively written. The respect these characters exhibited with regards to boundaries, both keeping their own and respecting each others’ was breathtaking. Can’t recommend it enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars This story is stunning in every way.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis story is stunning in every way. Ian and Bodhi are fantastic characters, impossible not to love. Their journey from instant attraction (thanks to Bodhi’s crazy dog Ollie, who’s role in the story should not be overlooked) to the ultimate bond of trust and love, is written beautifully with the perfect amount of emotion v heat.
With some fabulous sub-plots that weave their way throughout adding layers to the main romance, there is also the wonderful relationship between Bodhi and his sister Lane. Their banter and Lane’s one-liners had me in stitches! Lane is a force of nature!
A brilliant, sweet LGBTQ+ story - I can’t wait to check out others in this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bo-tiful!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseBook 2 of the Love Bank series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone.
Sweet!
A m/m romance where one partner is a rock star, and one is a pet technician.
Bo has already transitioned, so that does not dominate the story. He's just a gorgeous young man faced with another scrummy man. And Ollie, the crazy dog!
I've not read anything with a trans person in before, but I have to say this was respectfully done. There was sensitivity, understanding, support and respect shown. Well done!
Bo and Ian each have their issues, thanks to past relationships. Can they now allow themselves to be vulnerable enough to give their potential relationship a chance? There are certainly challenges ahead!
What I loved was the chemistry and the sweet nature both these young men had. Such compassionate souls. Adorkable is the author's description, and I have to agree.
I also really enjoyed glimpsing Rider and Cam, the MCs of book 1.
4.5*

Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLove, pets, pop, trans, one heck of a mix, but I could not put it down. An easy read that will encourage me to get book 3 even though my library is full.
