The Button and the Bean: A bold, rhyming picture book adventure about best friends (Read and Learn Stories 2) Kindle Edition
Friends that play together stay together, but what happens when friendship is tested to the limit?
The Button and the Bean are the very best of friends. They talk non-stop, they buy each other gifts.
They may fall out, but through it all, they are inseparable.
They love adventure, visiting the zoo to find other animals that begin with the letter ‘B’.
However, danger lurks around the corner, about to rock their world!
So the Button needs lunch, she’s hungry. But when the waiter thinks the Bean should be in the kitchen with the rest of the food, can the Button save him from the Soup of the Day?
With bold and lively fun illustrations, the highlighted words beginning with the letter ‘B’ will delight young children learning to read (with many to spot throughout the story). The fantasy adventures of the Button and the Bean will enchant younger and older children alike.
This is the second story in the Read and Learn series, after the award-winning Jumbo Giant Sausages. Each book in the series can be read on its own or as part of the set. There are fun activities to complete after the story is read too.
This rhyming picture-book has been awarded a five-star award by Reader’s Favorite for its story and illustrations.

Review
"This sweet little picture book is ideal for pre-school to middle-grade children, to teach them about the importance and meaning of friendship and being there for friends in need. The rhymes in this book are abundant, good and catchy. The book introduces us to many words beginning with the letter 'B'. This can also be a great book for early readers, to help them in improving their vocabulary and learn new words beginning with the letter 'B'. The illustrations were funny and whimsical, which made the book enjoyable! The saving of Bean is hilarious and comical which will definitely be an enjoyable read for children! "

Julian Hilton is a writer and musician who lives beside the seaside in the magical county of Devon, England.
Born in England, the same week Get Back was in the charts, Julian always fancied being a Beatle, but could not sing like Paul Mccartney. Still, much like the fab four, he would much like to contribute to the world in some small way. Using a vivid imagination for the impossible, he seems much more likely to tell tall tales of adventures you can have while still getting back in time for your tea...(or 'dinner' as it's known elsewhere outside the Northwest of England).
Author of the successful Bradley's Magic Adventures (Bradley and the Dinosaur, Bradley and the Magic Carpet and Bradley and the Rocket) and the Read and Learn series (Jumbo Giant Sausages, The Button and the Bean), These books have brought smiles to thousands of children and hundreds of 5-star reviews. Julian has been interviewed on BBC radio and his books have been read online by Little Radio and Entertainingly Different and Miss Jessica's World.
Julian's books have won awards from Reader's Favorite as well as Purple and Royal Dragonfly. Regularly topping their charts on Amazon they are hits with young boys and girls alike who love adventure, with a sense of fun and the fantastic.
Julian's sixth picture book, Time Telling Ted is available now.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2021I have always loved watercolors and the artwork looks like that and I love the story of their fun adventures and I love the quiz at the end. It makes the book more interactive. Not just something you read and put down and forget about lol you can have fun answering the questions at the back! This is a very wonderful book and I plan to buy more
- Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2021This is an enchanting book about two best buddies. The illustrations are fascinating and add to the story. Julian Hilton must have a very best friend because she portrays this couple entertainingly. The book is easy to read with large print for the little ones to follow along with their finger. I highly recommend this book for the PreSchool to First Graders and the 2-7 year old kiddoes.
Button and Bean didn't care that they were different shapes or out of different things. Something happens to Bean. What does Button do? What would you do if your best buddy needed you? Tell your parents, I am sure. Then what? You can find out what Button does by reading. Have fun and enjoy!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful rhyming story with fun illustrations.
This is a fun rhyming picture book, and although the Button and the Bean are very different, they have formed a special bond and love to spend time together. However, on this particular day, the Bean finds himself in a rather precarious situation. Will he ‘stew’ or will Button save the day?
The Button and the Bean is also great for children learning to sound out their letters with the letter B highlighted throughout, and a few ‘Did you notice’ questions at the end.
Julian has done a smashing job with this story and illustrations. Children will be delighted and even enjoy a few giggles.
