RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ SPICE: 🔥🔥.5 This was a fun insta-love (well, somewhat) short read. Holly came home to Blizzard Bluff to get away from a horrible series of life events. Who can blame her when she's jilted at the altar and lost her job to boot? Seeking refuge at her family's cabin, she did not expect to run into Lucas, her ex-boyfriend from high school and the man she's left firmly in the past. If you're looking for a quick-paced steamy holiday read about second chances, this is a great pick. There is an element of insta-reconnection, but Laramie Briscoe does a great job of establishing a foundation between Holly and Lucas that makes it work.

    A darling holiday read! A second chance romance that starts with a bride left at the altar. Holly made a life for herself in the big city. After her first love Lucas broke up with her, she left for college and never looked back. Then her seemingly perfect life imploded and all she wants is to go home. Lucas struggles every day to keep his head above water. Life didn't turn out like he planned but people are depending on him so he pushes through. Now Holly is home and they have a second chance at happiness. If Hallmark Christmas movies had spice, this would be the perfect story for them. Can't wait for more in this series!

I truly enjoyed this story and recommend it for anyone who likes small town romance.

    And some small time lapse discrepancies. Like how she was going into the cabin for a few days but would be back for Christmas, and then Holly and Lucas spent 1 night there together, and the next day they both went home for Christmas
    Plus I woulda like some more details of the 1 night in the cabin …

I could relate to it on so many levels as I too married a man I've know my whole life although we only spent 5 years apart and it was during our late middle school and high school years.
