I’m excited to be back with the gang in this funny series. Mae is just about the funniest character I have read. She has her hands full running the campground and keeping up with all the gossip. It is an exciting event when Mae is given the key to the city. Campers make food for all to enjoy and the atmosphere is festive as they all join in on the celebration.

As luck would have it, the festivities don’t last long when a body is discovered with an arrow pierced through his body. Now it could be said that the deceased may have had secrets or perhaps enemies but it is for sure that someone wanted him dead.

It is hard for Mae and her band of helpers not to investigate, but they just can’t help themselves. Mae better be careful or her handsome boyfriend, Hank may get a bit upset. He is not keen on her snooping around his investigations, but can he really stop her? It’s a great story with an exciting trail of evidence that leads Mae to danger once again.

I have to mention that meeting Hank’s family was hysterical. His family is right out of the pages of a dysfunctional unhappy group who thrives on tearing each other down. His sister is so full of herself that she doesn’t realize how embarrassing she is. I’m not sure that Hank will take Mae to visit his family again anytime soon. Well we all have our skeletons in the closet, don’t we?

I loved reading about Mae teaching at school for six weeks. She is mostly welcomed but a tragedy strikes there which has her rethinking her decision to be there. There is plenty of suspects in this story and the adventure is non stop. When Hank shows up at school to investigate the latest murder, there is a funny exchange between him and a teacher. Oh my, I rolled on the floor laughing. The author is an expert in humor and storytelling. This is my favorite series by the author and I hope she continues it for a long time. I feel like I am part of the community and would love to stay in one of their trailers. There is never a dull moment with Mae and her band of curious friends. Don't miss this hysterical adventure and find out who is behind the murders.

I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.

I can't wait to read more in this series. I am enjoying the characters, storyline, and everything in between. The characters are always loveable. I am always surprised at who the killer is. I am glad Mae isn't always the one to figure out who did the crime. I hope her and Hank end up completely together. Well, I am looking forward to their relationship journey. Even if she doesn't end up with Hank I can't wait to see things unfold.

I love and enjoy Tonya Kappes 's writing style. Her cozy mysteries are clean. No vulgar speech and no heavy sex scenes. Dead bodies are stacking up and all are killed with an arrow. Is someone on the school archery team the killer? Mae West and the Laundry Ladies have their work cut out for them! Hank, the detective and Mae West's boyfriend has at last encouraged Mae to help solve the murder mystery. This is a very enjoyable book and I give it 5 stars. I like how Mae and the Laundry Ladies all work together to solve the mysteries. Tonya's books take me back to thoughts of when my husband and I and our children would go camping . Wonderful times and memories. I recommend this book and really any of Tonya Kappes Books to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries.

Canyons, Caravans, & Cadavers is the 6th book in Tonya Kappes’ A Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery series. USA Today Bestselling Author Tonya Kappes brings readers back to Normal, Kentucky~ where nothing is normal. A Campers and Criminal Mystery Series is filled with Southern charm and quirky characters. Mae West and the laundry club ladies’ activities keep this series entertaining drawing in readers from the beginning of each “episode” to the end. With the influx of tourists and money since Mae’s arrival in Normal, Kentucky and rehabilitation of the campground, Mae receives a key to the city. Mae agrees to teach a six-week economics class at the high school, but before school starts, Mae finds Scott the economics teacher/archery coach, dead at Happy Trails campground with an arrow through his back. Soon after that discovery, Mae finds the body of the high school janitor, also with an arrow in his back. Why are school employees being targeted? Before additional staff members are targeted, Mae and her friends from the “Laundry Club” are on the case. Ms. Kappes delivers a tightly woven plot with multiple twists that keep the reader guessing. If Hank thinks he can keep Mae from investigating, he is highly mistaken. I truly appreciate reading an entertaining, clean cozy mystery. There are wonderful tips and recipes at the end of this highly entertaining book. If you haven’t discovered this series, I’d suggest you include this one on your book wish list or get a copy today. You won’t be disappointed. I enjoyed it and can’t wait for a return visit with Mae and the gang in book #7!

1.0 out of 5 stars Reads like a first draft
Reviewed in Canada on March 29, 2019
I am done with this author. I will not waste any more time or money on her books.
This book was simply frustrating for me. There are spelling, grammar, and formatting mistakes, not to mention typos, that I was continually taken out of what could be an interesting story. Add to that the writing is something I would expect from a junior's high school creative writing assignment that I would give a grade of C, and I just couldn't finish it.
I have found this will every book of hers, but as the story ideas were interesting, I powered through. It's as though she couldn't be bothered with editors, proofreaders, or Beta readers or, if she did get them, they were people who never passed Grade 12 English courses.
How these books become 'best sellers' are beyond me. There are authors who work so hard to get things as good as they can, and then turn their work over to others to check, double check and triple check. This writer publishes what looks like first drafts.
    No more for me!
