Capturing Sin: A Paranormal Demon Romance (Playing with Demons Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 273 ratings

I’ve been keeping a monster locked up.

In my defence, it’s in the name of science, but I don’t think the demon sees it that way. It’s a terrible idea, but it was either cage him or kill him, and I couldn’t stomach the latter.

Not after what I’d done.

I was raised to fight his kind, but something about my captive draws me closer, despite his sharp edges and cruel words. Trapped by my controlling uncle, I’m forced to run twisted experiments, letting the wicked demon feed on me.

The problem is, his bite isn’t painful—it’s addictive—and judging by the mix of hunger and hatred gleaming in his starlit eyes, I’m not the only one affected.

But when my worst fears come true, the monster doesn’t snap my neck like he promised—he saves me instead.

Now, I’m his prisoner.

With an agenda of his own, if he discovers the dark secret I’m hiding, nothing will stop him from finally taking his revenge.

Can I escape my captor before it’s too late? Or will he capture not just my body, but my heart?

Capturing Sin is a dark enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance, with fangs, tail action and a possessive demon who won’t let his woman escape his clawed clutches. Intended for mature readers.
The Playing with Demons series is best enjoyed in order for the overarching story, but each instalment follows a different couple to their own HEA and can be read as a standalone romance. See author website for TWs.

Demon tail 😈

Demon tail 😈
It is the second book in the Playing with Demons series, and although it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend starting with the first book for the best reading experience. I absolutely devoured this story. I couldn’t put it down—the characters of Liliana and Sin captured my heart completely. The storyline between them was captivating, filled with intense emotions and gripping moments that kept me engaged from beginning to end. And lord the demon tail 😈 The way the plot was wrapped up was satisfying and well-executed, leaving no loose ends. It was perfect that Liliana fell for the demon Sin but sad it took a demon for her to feel love. I loved how the demon claimed her almost immediately, adding a unique twist to their relationship. The depth of the characters and the intricacies of their bond were beautifully portrayed, emotions clearly making them both a hot mess express. Im eager to read more in the near future.

I LOVED this book! It was everything and needed and nothing i didnt. From going to captive to captor was amazing and i loved the fighting between the h and the H. Now as for the spice, the scenes were all amazing and they were for the most part different, i always hate when the scenes are getting repetitive and that was not a problem with this book

Spicy, slow burn, with enough violence to be exciting, but not enough to leave wounds. The characters are well written, and the story and plot flow in a way that let me emerse myself in the world with minimal disbelief. It's an excellent book. It's book 2 and book 1 was just as well written

So I purchased Hellish Witch thinking it was the starting point of Sakura's Black series Playing With Demons...so after that descovery I had to start from the begining. And OMG is the ride worth it.

Book 2 of Playing with Demons is a hidden Easter egg in Book One Take Me to Hell. I urge you to read closely and you will notice recurring characters. Capturing Sin follows Ex-hunter turned scientist Liliana is a pariah of her function. After being saved by a demon during a bloody night; the huntress starts to question everything around her.

Events of seeing her ex-fiancee choose another huntress over his future bride results in her calling off their engagment. Being saved by a demon that sacrfices himeself for her has her dealing with the drawback of hunters thinking she is not worth her valor. That fact that her uncle is pushing her passed her breaking point.

Enter the demon Sin. While searching for someone Sin is captured and an experiment with Liliana bloodletting for him. After the raid of the compound from Book One, they escape.

I love the interactions beteen Liliana and other characters is something that has stuck with me. I love the way she fights for demons and has compasion. The fact that she fights for and against everyone that uses her as a punchingbag.

From the moment Sin and Liliana lay eyes on one another the chemistry is unparallel. Each heroine and demon play off one another is a match made in dark romance heaven.

Book Two paves the way to the underworld and I cannot wait to FINALLY read Hellish Witch.

I almost didn’t read this one. The first one was good, don’t get me wrong, but I felt like, “Okay, this is fine, I don’t need more.” Im so glad I took the time to read this one because I truly loved this one! Can’t wait for the next in the series.

Read the trigger warnings because there is some dark stuff but its part of the story and I love how the FMC comes into her own. A very well told story with plenty of spice and heat. Can't wait for the next one!

This was much better than I expected. A lab tech is tasked with injecting herself with various substances, thought to be harmful to demons. Then she allows herself to be food for the demon in order to infect him with the drug. Apparently, it's easier than directly injecting a sedated demon, but whatever. The demon has its own plan which is not known until midway through the story. By then the two have formed a bond which has its own consequences.
The story has a unique plot, the two main characters are interesting. It has two villains, one minor and one major, which is nice and a twist at the end. My only complaint is the ending. As all of the books in this genre are required to have, is a style of ending I don't care for.
I admit I did enjoy reading it and I'm not a "demon story" guy. Ms. Black is a talented writer. I read this because I read an earlier story of here (yes, demons were involved) and thought I'd try another.

I have to say, this is one of the few authors I get angry at. Angry because she is so good and the books never last long enough (although they are beautifully crafted worlds with a sprinkle of spice and snark). I could read every book she has written and still be left wanting more.

Beautifully written, interesting characters and further world building from the first book. Loved Sin being a mean demon yet good guy who seemed honestly baffled at Lillianna being undervalued.
    Would read again.
