Lady Catherine's Demands: A gorgeous Regency romance for fans of Bridgerton and Jane Austen (Pemberley Presents Book 2) Kindle Edition
A gorgeous Regency romp of a novel from Eliza Austin, perfect for fans of Bridgerton!
Pemberley Presents...
Lady Catherine de Bourgh has invited herself to Pemberley, intent upon bringing about an engagement between her daughter Anne and Colonel Fitzwilliam. But her ladyship has failed to take into account the remarkable improvement in her daughter's health and spirits since the arrival of her new tutor, the charismatic Mr Asquith.
Meanwhile, Colonel Fitzwilliam is becoming more enchanted by the widowed Celia Sheffield and is perturbed to learn that her fortune is being contested by an individual in Jamaica - from whence Mr Asquith also hails.
When the obsequious Mr Collins shares grave rumours concerning Mr Asquith’s character, further suspicions are raised...and Lady Catherine demands answers!
A sparkling continuation of Pride and Prejudice perfect for fans of Julia Quinn, Eloisa James and Mary Balogh.

If you liked P and P you will enjoy this. It is great to read about the life of Mr. Darcy and Mrs. Darcys life after marriage.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2024Mostly a story of Anne's growing into a spine and an improved personality, while visiting Darcy and Elizabeth at Pemberley. Asquith, a non-canon character, is an intriguing love interest for her, while Lady Catherine attempts to marry her off to the Colonel (who has his own non-canon love interest). We get a non-canon villain and a difficult Collins, along with tons of repetitious internal dialogue and trite phrases.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Jane Austen, but a quick and fun read
A great sequel to Miss Bingley's Revenge. The plot zips along at a great pace just a very fun light read. I really enjoyed it.

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE
I bought this in good faith as part 2 of Pemberley Presents. Unfortunately I left it unread for a couple of weeks. Then decided to download book 1 first. I got no further than the first paragraph of Miss Bingleys Revenge before I realized I had been mislead. These 4 novels were published some years ago by Wendy Solimans. Now re released with new covers by Eliza Austen. I was able to return book 1 but unfortunately the closing date for this book expired 1 week ago. So avid JAFF readers take care I have found several other authors who re issue books with a new cover. But never with a new name.
