Combating the Siren Song: Paranormal Women's Fiction (Dame of the Midnight Relics Book 2) Kindle Edition
For anyone who thinks midlife is for sipping tea and taking it slow, I have terrible news. And I've only just begun to untangle the mess that fate left at my doorstep...
I've barely settled into my new supernatural midlife with another call drops in about a missing relic. And putting the finishing touches on my Sanctum will have to wait, as this is no everyday, run-of-the-mill artifact. Oh, no. This is a Siren Song, straight from the treasure trove of a Balinese clan.
And as my never-ending bad luck would have it, the Song has fallen into the hands of a clueless mundie. There are worse places to jet off to, of course. Bali is beautiful, but I can't stay long. My whirlwind chase is quickly redirected to the bustling streets of New York City. But my rollercoaster ride to secure the relic doesn't stop there. Up and down the entire east coast, I pursue the mischievous Siren Song. And the Siren Song gleefully leaves a trail of supernatural chaos in its wake.
Soon, I'm having very real doubts about my ability to be the Relic Keeper. Whatever Artemis saw in me, I can safely say I am not certain that I see in myself.
The clock is ticking louder than ever, and my cup of choice is no longer just tea. With the artifact's power swiftly growing, it won't be long before I'm out of my depth and unable to secure it. I call in reinforcements in the form of my two best friends, but I'm still not confident that we can retrieve this mesmerizing relic before it ensnares the entire nation.
Get ready for a wild magical ride filled with unexpected twists, hairpin turns, and some supernatural mayhem you simply won't believe!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2024This was a really good story!! It was filled with witches and magic, a Pegasus and relics, spells and tainted witches.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2024Had a few dragging moments but a nice twist on it. I like the bonding friendship and family involvement.hopefully the ending excitement continue .
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2024As the Relic Keeper is adjusting to her new powers, she's constantly being challenged. The inner dialogue of her doubting herself and then pulling up her bootstraps and getting things done is inspiring. Her lack of sleep is exhausting to think about. I can't wait to see what she does next!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2024This is another great book in the Dame of the Midnight Relics series by Brenda Trim. I can't wait to read the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2024This is a great story that will keep you turning the pages well into the night. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. I love it when a book pulls in characters from other series that an author has written, and this book is one of those. There’s a lot of action involved in searching for a lost magical artifact which of all things is—a song contained in a seashell. Being the new Relic Keeper certainly is keeping Nylah busy—especially when she barely knows what she is doing. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2024I like the premises of the other 3 series better, except for the gratuitous sex. I like romance as much as the next person, but I would prefer the fade to black approach. So far so good with this series. I look forward to the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2024Nylah is learning how to find the relics and put them in the vault. Her daughters Maisy and Amelie need to learn, but Nylah knows barely anything, thank goodness for her bestie and fellow firefighter, Kaiya. Nylah’s husband has been turned into a true werewolf, instead of a wolf shifter. He is still having trouble controlling his urges and the book tells of the crossover with Phoebe and company as well as Fiona and the Backside of 40. More and more people need to bring either relics or OOPs to her to be protected in the vault, as Artemis had jumpstarted her abilities and her daughters would as well, there is so much to learn. Artemis had given Nylah a way to get to other places faster to get the relics or OOPs, a Pegasus, Brylan. In this book, they have to find the Siren Song which is a type of extremely powerful OOP. Thank goodness for Kaiya’s wife, who gave up her siren song, to marry her mate. She is able to give Kaiya and Nylah pointers in their search. If it wasn’t so crazy, I’d laugh at the word search. The poor things have to search in between firefighting shifts. I was worried that the world was going to be in big trouble at the power of the relic could destroy areas. I can’t wait to read the next book.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2024This second book of the series was just as good as the first. Our protagonist is dealing with her mundie job , her husband's wolfish issues, and all the traveling required to do her magical job. Thankfully, she has her BFF to help and her magical transportation. I'm actually jealous of her transportation. She's also met the BOF who are giving her lots of support. This universe is full of strong women who help each other through all the trials, both mundane and magical. I can't wait for more of them all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Series
Combating the Siren Song: Dame of the Midnight Relics (Midlife Mysteries & Magic Book 38) by Brenda Trim. Nylah doesn’t seem to have time to sit down. Now she’s looking for a conch shell that contains siren song and every time she gets near to its last position it’s already gone somewhere else causing havoc wherever it is.

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor hubby
The poor women has not had it easy compared to phobe and Fiona learning about magic there journey was ruff but in this series her husband really got the raw end.no love story's in this series her husband gets turned supernatural in book one but you do see the loyalty and love there.I think one friend is single the fae lady.in the series with the twisted sister two was single, phobe was single and Fiona was single in her series.so set in the same world this series is different she is happy married. (Unless he meets a mate he is werewolf now, but she might be his mate hopefully) we saw the other side of events with phobe and Fiona in this book (I have read there series so saw them meet for first time in other series) the cross overs are very complex. The rest of this series is not out yet but in phobes series her cat has kittens so it's like going back in time with this series.
