Daddy's Stubborn: An Age Gap MM Romance (Healing Touch Book 2) Kindle Edition
Maxim
I don't need a man. I don't need anyone.
David thinks he can save me from the path of self-destruction, but he's wrong. I'm not trying to ruin my life; or fix it. I've given up trying either way.
I have a plan. I'm leaving this city and all the wretched memories behind, but I need to say goodbye to my mother first. Father won't let me. He won't even open the door for me anymore.
The only man to open his home to me is David. He's patient, caring, and sexy as all hell. I don't deserve his kindness. I don't need it. I don't need a man.
But maybe it's a Daddy I needed all along.
David
All I ever wanted was someone to look after, to make mine. I didn’t expect to find that someone in an angry little con-artist.
Maxim's a heartthrob. He's also a troublemaker; a stubborn one at that. I’d be wise to stay away, but I might not be as wise as I thought.
Every conversation with him is a battle and it takes a war to finally get to the core of the problems. All this boy wants is to see his mother and I’ll be damned if I don’t make it happen. His life is one massive heartbreak, but I can help heal a broken heart.
There's so much good in him the world decided to ignore. No wonder he's angry.
He won't be mistreated ever again; not on my watch. And if he would lower his shield for just one moment, maybe we could both find what we've truly been looking for.
Daddy's Stubborn is a standalone entry in the Healing Touch series. It features one patient and caring Daddy, one stubborn and fiery Middle, and all the heart and steam. There is a very happy ending for all who deserved it. Not Jack. Jack doesn't deserve it.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2021When you walk into a bookstore and you get to your favorite section, do you ever just drag your index finger along the spines of the books? You can do it differently while on your eBook, but just stay with me here. There's so many books to choose from, so how do you pick? I do this in hopes that my finger will lead me to the one. That little hidden gem. That one book I can't live without. My finger will slow as it falls onto one because the title catches my eye...just like it would Daddy's Stubborn. Like, what even is that? I slowly pull the book out and hope the cover catches my attention as well...and then it does (and let's be honest, this cover is sexy AF so you know it's got you). You flip the book over and the description is everything you didn't know you were looking for and you hope against all hopes that the book itself is too.
You get home and you start it. The book consumes you and you lose track of time. You may laugh or cry, your heart breaks, you get butterflies, you feel love and so many other emotions where you can't control your breathing, and then it's done. There's no more. You close the book and you sit back hating that there's no more. You hate that you loved it so much that you can't read it again for the first time so you can feel those emotions exactly the same way all over again. That's what this book did to me. To be fair though, that is just what a Hayden Hall book does to me. He continuously writes these little gems that I never know what to expect or if I was even going to like it. But I do. I really, REALLY do. They are always those ones you remember how you found it and how it made you feel while you read it and even long after that. I feel like I've found that little hidden gem. That one book I hope more people would find too because I know they'd feel the same way about it that I did.
Hayden can make a trope that I'm not usually into (such as this one), into something that I want to read and something that I can't put down. They are tender and loving and have just the right amount of heat. You will never have to worry about whether they are well written, because they always are. He will choose these words and string them together into something so beautiful that it will sit with you for days. There are an incredible amount of highlights on my Kindle for this book alone! What I liked about this particular MM book, was that it wasn't just about sex either for me. If I am being honest, usually that is what grabs me and that is what I want the most when I am reading. This one, was about two people finding each other in an unique way and just falling in love over time, all while driving a plot I became quite invested in and was wondering how it was going to get situated.
There was some great banter which was a fun version of the two MC's flirting and I often found myself smirking frequently. Also, their interactions, which were just low key sexy scenes, they didn't make me have butterflies in my stomach. No, it was more of a tornado wrecking havoc on my nerves and emotions. I just loved these two characters together and I am delighted their story got told. Each book Hayden has written is better than the last. Just know anytime he ever puts out a book, I will always be right there to read it.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2022I Like Daddy Romances but I wasn't sure about this one. It seemed to start slower than the last sexually but had alot of material. Alot for the reader to learn about both of the Main Characters, David & Maxim. I really connected with the Mom with MS since my Father had it. The fact that Maxim was willing to do anything just to say goodbye spoke so much to me personally and I think to David too. This whole situation with his Mom is ultimately what helped bring them know together. They realized after dealing with trying to get her out that they loved each other.
I don't know if I skipped a few pages or not but it was never clear how she got out and they had her living with the aunt.
But that's OK BECAUSE I loved the ending. I was thrilled they got married. I was surprised he was able to take the fist. I have only read about it a few times but it sounds exciting and painful. I loved their special honeymoon cruise. Most of all I was happy that David took a 24 year old waif who clearly meant him no harm but looked scary because of his tattoo and brought him in to his home. Gave him food, clothing, and a place to live. But most of all he gave him love- unconditional love. Maxim fought him tooth and nail and kept thinking there was an expiration date. Maxim finally realized he had the love he always wanted and needed.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a nice love story@
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2021I really enjoyed the first part of the book, but then it went sort of off the rails for me. First of all, I liked both characters and I liked how they met. They both had baggage, and it was all believable. They were both a little broken, but the reader could see they’d be perfect for each other. It was a strong and promising start.
Then they both go from closed off to “I love you” sort of out of the blue and in a very short time frame (it seemed like a week or two). They didn’t even have any internal dialogue to get the reader there. Then there’s the daddy/middle thing. Yes, Max totally seems like a middle, but he doesn’t think he’s a sub and doesn’t want that power imbalance. But two minutes at a club and suddenly he’s saying Sir and is ok with everything? First of all, why would he even use Sir? David is a daddy dom. It just felt really weird. And then I feel like it wasn’t quite explored over the rest of the book. Max suddenly just stops feeling that teenage angst and stops acting out, which was kind of his personality. It could’ve been fun for the plot, but suddenly he’s a golden boy. As the book progressed I actually felt like they became less of a match; they both seemed to become untrue to who they really were and it felt fake.
Finally, there’s the plot with Max’s mother. It is totally unclear and vague as to whether she is actually being abused. What did they find when they visited her? It’s not described for the reader. They’re just horrified, yet they refuse to call the police. David is friendly with the police commissioner, yet he never once calls to even ask for advice? Or have her checked on? All because they sort of broke in? (Which could totally be argued because it’s also his mother’s house and she was in it and happy to see him). I honestly felt like this was a massive disservice; it implies that anyone under someone else’s care can be mistreated and neglected and nothing can be done about it. Then when they finally get her away it’s just sort of ridiculous. It took ages and the way it was handled was not very believable, especially when there were so many other ways they could have gone about it.
So the book had promise and started well, but it fizzled out for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Daddy cruise.
I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely story.
Maxim and David were so right for each other.
I couldn,t quite understand hod Max,s dad got away with what he did, I think I would have thrown him out of his flat window.
However, what a delightful ending, but AGAIN where is hook 3.🤔

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mm age play read
I have read more Daddy books about littles but this book is about a middle which I enjoyed a lot. There is a lot of backstory that comes out slowly throughout this book and the series title of Healing Touch is very appropriate for this story of two men who are each in need of something and find it in each other. I feel like Hayden Hall really captured the character of Maxim particularly well. The angry young man can easily become a stereotype which he seems to be in the beginning as a defensive skateboarder who tries to con David but, as the story develops so we see what has happened to him to make him feel the way he does. I really enjoyed this book and am definitely going back to read the first one and hope for many more books in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where to begin
Maxim and David find themselves by finding each other in a beautiful, heartwarming way. I don’t want to give anything away, but I found this story so fulfilling simply by how the characters developed.
It’s a beautiful story with incredible imagery I adored.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finding A Part Of Himself.
MM Age gap, Hurt/comfort, Daddy/ Middle contemporary romance, easy to read page-turner with some angst. Maxim was feeling lost and his life was on a downward spiral over the past year. He meets David in a negative way but David sees more than what's on the surface and tries to help Maxim. HEA.
