Devastating in a Kilt (Hot Scots Book 9) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 127 ratings

"Ex" marks the hottest spot.

Having a fling with my ex-husband is a huge mistake. I might have walked out two years ago, but he divorced me. A meddling friend has set us up on a blind date, and though I should know better, I still can't resist Jack MacTaggart's hot body and his sensual skills. After one steamy afternoon in a Scottish hotel room, it's over—again.

But we forgot something on that day when we gave in to our mutual lust.

Autumn Flowerday left me without explaining why. Now she's back—with a revelation that changes everything. We're having a baby. All we've ever done is argue and shag, but that's not enough. Aye, the sex is bloody fantastic. But with a child on the way, we need to settle our differences. Maybe we have a chance…

Until the entire MacTaggart clan decides to help us out. Bloody hell.

Anna Durand is a bestselling, multi-award-winning author of contemporary and paranormal romance. Her books have earned bestseller status on every major retailer and wonderful reviews from readers around the world. But that's the boring spiel. Here are the really cool things you want to know about Anna!

Born on Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Anna grew up moving here, there, and everywhere thanks to her dad's job as an instructor pilot. She's lived in Texas (twice), Mississippi, California (twice), Michigan (twice), and Alaska—and now Ohio.

As for her writing, Anna has always made up stories in her head, but she didn’t write them down until her teen years. Those first awful books went into the trash can a few years later, though she learned a lot from those stories. Eventually, she would pen her first romance novel, the paranormal romance Willpower, and she’s never looked back since.

Second Chance ex husband and wife steamy romance!!

Second Chance ex husband and wife steamy romance!!
Devastating in a Kilt by Anna Durand is actually the 9th novel in the Hot Scots Series. It was my first novel by Anna Durand. Even though I haven’t read any of the prior novels, I was able to read Devastating in a Kilt without an issue. That being said there were some references from prior books that you need to take into consideration while reading this. If you’d like, you can binge the books before this series to catch up on all of the characters. The MacTaggart family is huge and there are a plethora of books by this author to chose from. Dr. Jack MacTaggart is a sexy psychologist from Scotland who traveled to Las Vegas for a work conference. *Swoon* The accent does it for me. He unexpectedly sees one of the most beautiful (bonnie) women he’s ever seen sitting at the bar. They start to chat, hook up and one thing leads to another and the two ends up walking with Elvis marrying them. That all happens before we are even in chapter one. This second chance romance starts off with an already divorced Autumn and Jack. The fact that they’ve been separated makes the passion and scorching chemistry between Jack and Autumn THAT much hotter. I am grateful to have received this ARC as I was introduced to a hilarious group of Scots and Brits, a big crazy meddling family and a second chance romance that melted my heart. I am always eager to read a second chance romance especially if there is a divorced couple! Autumn and Jack are so cute the way they were with each other was so touching. Even though Jack was rude to Autumn initially he is mature and owns up to it leaving it impossible to stay angry at the sexy Scot. Autumn is an American who years after her divorce from Jack, is on a vacation per one of her friend’s suggestions. Running into your ex-wife/husband at a hotel sounds hot. Being set up on a blind date with them is hilarious. Here we get both scenarios. I absolutely adore the relationship between Jack and Autumn! You could feel the chemistry and passion between them. They wanted to be with each other so badly but neither of them could admit their feelings or the truth. We wait anxiously for each of them to finally share how they feel about each other, what went wrong and how if they can even make it work. Unfortunately for them, or perhaps fortunately, fait intervenes leaving Jack and Autumn no choice but to have to work out their relationship. I truly enjoyed reading Devastating in a Kilt and seeing the progression of their relationship. I would definitely recommend this second chance, erotic, accidental pregnancy romance to romance lovers. It was adorable and the perfect second chance romance which is one of my favorite genres.

Devastating In A Kilt (Hot Scots Book 9) by Anna Durand transports the reader to beautiful, warm, friendly and charming Scotland. The Highlands are full of charming, hot Scots and Jack MacTaggert is no exception. It’s plain to see that Autumn and Jack’s issues are not physical. These two combust just by looking at one another. But they both have deep seated issues which brings fear to the forefront that triggers a flight response. As a result, both are heartbroken and lash out as a result.
The plot takes Jack and Autumn on an emotional journey where they try honest and open communication no matter how difficult it may be. In between the heavy talks, there’s a lightness that both experience as they truly get to know one another in all the ways, moods and day to day living. Throughout this process, I love that Jack and Autumn explore the Highlands. Autumn is thrilled and excited by every place visited and Jack loves that he made that happen, finally. There’s epiphanies along the way for these wonderful characters that inspire hope and healing along with the assurance of a HEA.
Overall, Jack and Autumn began to repair their too-short marriage for one reason only to realize love supersedes it all. Overcoming their fear and facing their own responsibilities in their ill-fated first marriage attempt, becomes a solid friendship and soul mate love of a lifetime.

I can't get enough of the MacTaggart clan. Sexy Scots with attitude and flare for the dramatic, even tho they want to blame it all on the woman of the clan. I love seeing the characters from the whole family in every book its like a family reunion every time.

Devastating in a Kilt is the 9th book in the Hot Scots series, but it can be read as a standalone book.

Jack is a psychologist and the "serious one" in the MacTaggart family. He meets Autumn in Las Vegas, and the two have a crazy, unconventional 12 day courtship and get married at a Vegas Elvis chapel. Autumn moves to Scotland for Jack, but he puts distance between them and won't introduce her to any of his family or take him to see any of Scotland. After six weeks, she tires of his attitude and makes plans to return to America. She asks him to move with her, but he refuses and she leaves. He never follows.

Almost two years later they are set up on a blind date (by family and friends). It goes all wrong, but they end up having sex anyhow. Cue the surprise baby. Now they are trying to figure out if they can get along well enough to co-parent. Over time, they both start to deal with the issues that made their relationship go south and correct the behaviors that sabotaged it. Can they sort it out before they tell their families about the baby on the way?

There is nothing better than a hot Scottish man who loves to speak gaelic terms of endearment to a woman he loves. Even if that woman is his ex-wife who left him after 12 weeks of marriage. Jack and Autumn have a very complicated relationship that starts off with them hooking up in Las Vegas and getting married after knowing each other for only 6 days. Jack lives in Scotland so Autumn moves there with him only to be kept in their apartment and away from any friends or family. After 12 weeks Autumn has had it with Jack hiding her and gives him an ultimatum which he refuses so she leaves.

Two years later, Autumn takes a trip to Scotland at the recommendation of a friend and is talked into going on a blind date only to find that date to be Jack her ex. They both are frustrated, angry and don't understand how their friends could do this to them. Once they are alone for a few moments though they find they can't keep their hands off one another. When Autumn wakes the next morning she finds Jack gone with no explanation.

A few weeks later Autumn returns to Scotland to confront Jack and share some exiting but scary news with him. He is so discombobulated that he again holds Autumn hostage in that she can't go outside, answer the phone or door. As days go by the two talk and begin to address their problems. From there they begin to find their love for one another again and Autumn is introduced to Jacks family, who love to meddle. They begin to do just that in order to help Jack and Autumn get back together. The MacTaggert family is full of unique individuals who are fun and very determined in anything they set their minds too.

Devastating in a Kilt is such a fun, romantic, very sexy read, with a tiny bit of mystery, lots of angst and lots of meddling family. I loved Jack and Autumn and enjoyed reading of their reunion and all they places they go and things they do to find their HEA. I highly recommend Devastating in a Kilt, it's a read that will have you dreaming of a trip to Scotland and maybe even finding a Scottish love of your own!

So this was an Interesting read, meet, married divorced all within a month. Then back on the hamster wheel all over again!!! I'm sitting here trying to recall the names of the lead characters and that's not good. I'm Praying that it's a Brain Fog and not because of the story. But I can recall, Rory, Alex, Callum, Elspeth, Greer these are all secondary characters in the story!!! So I don't want to stop anyone from reading this book, the story by this same Author that showcased Ian(sp), Rae and daughter Milian was great..... But again maybe.it's.just.me......wait Dr. McTaggert (that's all I got) sorry😩😩
