Death by Chandelier (Sister Sleuths Cozy Mystery) Kindle Edition
The Wright sisters, Maybelle and Helen, find their lives turned inside out when they inherit their grandmother’s stately Victorian home on East Lake. Amid their grief, they resolve to uphold their family's storied legacy within its cherished walls.
However, the house's quiet grandeur is shattered when Maybelle stumbles upon a chilling scene: a woman lifelessly suspended in the dining room. Detective Peter Nelson, quick to label the death a suicide, overlooks the tangle of secrets Maybelle's sharp eyes begin to unravel. Trusting her intuition, she embarks on an investigative journey, tracing a trail of enigmatic clues and shadowy figures, each harboring motives as murky as the town's whispered scandals.
As Maybelle delves deeper—despite her sister’s protests, she is convinced the scene is a facade for murder. She is met with Detective Nelson's stern warnings to cease her pursuit. Unshaken, Maybelle’s tenacity only grows, spurred on by the need for truth and justice, even as her own safety hangs in the balance.
Join Maybelle and her sister in this riveting cozy mystery where heritage homes harbor hidden agendas, and a determined heiress with an affinity for her flock of chickens proves to be an amateur sleuth of the most intrepid kind. Will her dedication unmask a killer? Follow Maybelle's perilous quest to outwit a cunning murderer who's closer than she thinks…

About the author

Donna Muse has been a mystery buff for years! But she hasn't been a fan of blood and gore. So when the Cozy Mystery genre came into being, she jumped on board with both feet. She loves the amateur sleuth and is fascinated by the intense and often comical way the perpetrator is revealed. Donna lives in Maine with her husband, loves walking by the surf, fishing for striped bass, and playing with her grandchildren and her cats!

As they are looking at what to do with the house either move in or sell it. Maybelle stops into the house to review the furniture in it. On arrival she found a prominent local realtor hanging from the dining room chandelier. The mystery deepens and ends with a surprise. A fun read.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2024I’m a dog groomer and listen to a lot of books at work. This one was so engaging. I had fun listening to it. Well done audio. Can’t wait for the next book recorded! I’m a fan.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2024I enjoyed all the twist and turns of this mystery as specially with regards of the detective who was the once who can to see if it was an suicide or not. I loved how Maybelle Wright would not give up until she figured it out even though she was not a police officer. I was quite different to see someone with pet chickens and not dogs or cats. If you enjoy a cute mystery then I would recommend this book to you. The sister seem to get themselves into a few different things.
