    Zac is top of the ladders for level and wealth, and near the top of the Dao ladder too. Humanity has always been competitive but now we compete against everything in the universe to survive and thrive. His goal has been to find and protect his little sister Kenzie and he is almost ready once he finds a closer teleported to use.
    Meanwhile the old governments of the world are trying to pull themselves together and gain strength and legitimacy in this new reality run by the Ruthless Heavens, or System.
    Zac gathers those he knew before as well as those he finds that need help or saving; then he pushed then into his new academy to grow stronger. His island nation needs an army as well as crafters and he needs more people of any races that will work together… but greed may be too big a motivator for some, even those close to Zac.
    And let’s not forget the entrance of the lizardfolk zealots of the church of everlasting dao, they are the enemy of all as they seek to purge any cosmos energy users that aren’t them.
    Plus that pesky undead incursion that no one beat has expanded to be as large as a nation, and Zac has to cross it to find his sister. Leading to an encounter that will be end his life as he knows it… for now. Great power comes through great adversity and Zac is pushing to find more powerful foes, but he may want to be a little more careful in the future as we only have 1 life to live… right?

    The highlight of this sequal is absolutely the world building and character growth. Instead of getting another series about a mc in an deadly world going from town to town freeing them we actually get some permernace. This is excellent because it really give a push off point to expore the finer details of the world and multiverse that the mc now resides in.
    The charecter growth feels natural, Zac slowly grows into the sort of person he needs to be to survive and actually learns about his mistakes which is incredible.
    Looking forward for more to come.

    There is still some editing needed, caught sight of a repeated paragraph, and some dividers that are a bunch of "-" instead of that nice line.

    Most of my concerns regarding the first book are improved in the sequel, the characters are more deeply developed, the worldbuilding has expanded beyond earth, and character interactions feel more meaningful.

    There is a deeper approach to the nature of the Dao compared to the first book, which positively surprised me. It felt like those old Chinese cultivation novels, save for their insufferable translation.

    Defiance of the Fall is quickly becoming one of my favorite Litrpg works, I hope it keeps up the quality.
