Delightful Sins: A Dark Enemies To Lovers Romance (North Shore Stories Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 1,590 ratings

A dark and sizzling, enemies to lovers, polyamorous standalone romance from bestselling author, Lola King

She betrayed them and ran away. Now they want their revenge.

In a town where all that matters is loyalty to your gang, I’ve been labeled a traitor.

A death sentence.

I ran away from the North Shore the day I knew I wasn’t safe there anymore. I left behind the people I thought were my family: My crew, the Kings.

More importantly, I turned my back on the two men who once meant everything to me.

The hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I might have known Elliot and Ethan since we were children, but I betrayed the brothers in more ways than one.

Now they want me dead.

I should have known no one escapes the Kings. They found me and are taking me back to face my darkest secrets and most haunting memories.

A place where I am public enemy number one.

I’m stuck with a master manipulator and his bloodthirsty brother. Two men who only want to make me hurt. In more ways than one.

They will never let me go. At least not until I’ve paid for my sins.

Delightful Sins is the third book in the North Shore Stories. It can be read as a standalone. This book contains scenes and subject matters some readers may find triggering. Please read the content warning inside the book.

Lola King is a dark, steamy romance author who loves giving ‘happy ever after’s to antiheroes.

She writes flawed, and deeply broken characters, and focuses some of her stories around queer love. Her books are sometimes cute, sometimes angsty, but always sexy! Lola lives in London and if she isn’t writing, she is most likely keeping her mind busy putting together a play or making music.

🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I was nervous for this one going in since the 3 main characters are previously showcased in such bad light. I had no love for them going in and was worried that would make it hard to connect, especially with Jade. It didn't. I had a feeling right off the bat, that Jade was the way she was for a big reason and I was right. Lola's characters are always more than meets the eye and Jade was no different. And the brothers... holy heck. One with a love for caring for her and praise, the other with an extreme degradation kink, the way they melded together, was pure perfection. Not to mention how unbelievably psycho they both are. The plot was fun and new. I think my favorite thing, was how many cameos from previous characters there was throughout the book. If you read this as your first book, I HIGHLY recommend going back to the VERY beginning with Stoneview stories and reading up to this one. Those little bite size pieces mean soooo much more. Which brings me to the sneak peak at the end! I was expecting it, but that didn't matter and I can't freaking wait.

I was eager to read this book after Elliot and Ethan's ruthless behavior in book 2. Their dark obsession with Jade hinted at an intense story, and true to Lola King’s style—after just reading one of her books, I'm hooked—it delivered a captivating blend of toxic and sweet dark romance. I enjoy a good ménage involving dueling brothers, and this story highlights their complex dynamic. You can tell they care for each other but both want Jade either by themselves or they willing to do anything like share her, and complicating their feelings. Each brother carries his own baggage and struggles with anger and longing and show it in their on way one by manipulation other by degrading.
Jade’s chemistry with both brothers blends chaos and peace, mixing ruthlessness with sweetness. As a throuple, jealousy and competition fuel their drama. Jade's backstory with her crew has gang and mafia vibes, steeped in secrets and miscommunications that are bound to come to light. I loved the vulnerable moments between the characters as they shared their truths and learned to forgive and trust each other. While the ending felt rushed and I wanted more time for their development, the buildup of angst and emotional tension was enjoyable. The story had a great amount of spice, degradation and praising that it balanced itself out in the story.

I WAS SO EXCITED TO DIVE INTO THIS BOOK! Especially after seeing all the ruthlessness of Elliot and Ethan in book 2 of this series…and their feral obsession with finding Jade. They literally m**der in order to get what they need to track here down. That level of dark obsession and menace? It’s classic Lola King- and I knew these two would be unhinged in the best way and that I’d get a story equally toxic as it was somehow sweet, like the rest of this series. And oh my did we- this one was wildly entertaining and full of dark romance magic.

I love a good menage with dueling brothers- and this had that dynamic. They love each other and know Jade has feelings for them both…but this is not an easy scenario. Both want her for themselves, in the past and present, both have their own baggage with her and have had their own solo relationships, and both are mad at her in a way that rivals the longing they have for her. The chemistry she has with both of them is chaos but also peaceful….ruthless but also sweet at at times. Even as a team, they still are jealous of the other and battling a bit, even though the throuple dynamic evolves early. Which makes for some really delicious storytelling and drama….on top of all the gang/mafia vibes drama with Jade’s backstory with the crew AND all the secrets and miscommunication between them. I will say this narrative relies heavily on the assumptions/unspoken truths dynamic- if these people had just communicated they might not be in this pickle. But at last, the truth does come out. And there are A LOT of unspoken secrets that were misunderstood by others.

I loved most of all the vulnerable moments between these characters- with their truths were coming out, or when they were just finally being honest with each other and finding out how to move forward, to forgive, to learn to trust again. But most of all just realizing the unconditional love that already existed. The end does come together pretty fast (pacing felt a bit rushed and I wanted more of a chance for them to find even footing once everything is out in the open), BUT I did still love the build up. All the angst and emotional tension and uncertainty. The spice is definitely spicing- even though hard degradation isn’t always my fav, but I loved that each brother has his own "flavor" that balances each other out. The emotional and smeexual chemistry definitely felt hand in hand.

The dual narrated audio was really well done- Corvin King did a fantastic job embodying both brothers - I noticed subtle but thoughtful vocal variations when being Ethan vs. Elliot that felt really in alignment with both characters. Ethan was more soft, reserved, quietly menacing. Elliot more vivacious, gritty, edgy. He’s seductive as both. And I really loved Heather Firth- I’ve not actually listened to her before, and I found that she did a great job vocally portraying Jade’s identity, her vulnerability, but also her steel. I really have loved the audios so far.

It felt so good to be back on the north shore!

If there is anyone who knows how to write a really good dark romance it's Lola! I'm not ashamed to admit that she can easily make me fall in love with the most controlling, manipulative and obsessive MMCs. That's exactly what happened after reading Ethan, Elliot and Jade's story!

Without a doubt, my favorite thing about Delightful Sins was seeing the very complicated relationship between Ethan, Elliot and Jade blossom into something really special. Once you learn more about the trauma that Jade was holding onto, you understand why she is a firecracker and why Ethan and Elliot are exactly what she needs in a relationship.

I absolutely loved the relationship that Jade and Alex had. I loved Alex and Xi's story so seeing more of her in Delightful Sins was such a treat.

I will say, I think I would have enjoyed this more if I read the first book in the series and understood why everyone had a lot of bad feelings toward Jade. I think Lola did a good job filling in some gaps, but it did make the beginning of the book a little harder to get into.

I LOVED Jade, Elliott and Ethan. They were exactly what she needed in her life, and she truly had no idea. Jade was a little spitfire, and I was 100% here for it

Her story shook me to my core, and I was so angry for Jade. She was just so misunderstood, and mistreated!

Kayla redeemed herself at the end. I really hated her for most of the book fr

Elliott and Ethan’s mouths?! The things these men said to Jade had me weak in the knees. Giggling and kicking my feet. I was blushing, and it wasn’t even me they were speaking to 😂😂

LOLA KING!!!! That last chapter was absolutely diabolical, and you know it 🙄 had me in tears, snot running all for nothing

The redemption arc for Jade….wow, I actually don’t hate her anymore! We all know Jade from the first two books, but this book gives us her story and the reasons behind her actions. Also the brothers…cue me melting into submission for either of them! But the chemistry between them and Jade is top tier and I devoured every single spicy scene with them! This series is becoming a favorite and I can’t wait to continue onto the last book!

    Audiobook:
The audio is dual narration performed by Corvin King and Heather Firth. I could not stop listening to this book! The narration was done so well and I loved being able to hear this story!

If you love bully, enemies to lovers and a mfm then read this book. I suggest reading the first book beforehand but it's not necessary.
