Depends On Who's Asking (SWAT Generation 2.0 Book 12) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 1,646 ratings

It was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring…nope. No. Nuh-uh. That’s a lie.
The moment that Caro wakes up, she knows that she’s not alone.
One thump-thump from the living room and she quickly moves into action.
One 9-1-1 call later, and she’s ready to defend herself.
Only, she gets more than she bargains for when she steps out into her living room and comes face to face with a living, breathing nightmare.
And isn’t it just fitting that the man that saves her by coming down the chimney with a large black gun in his hand is named Saint Nicholas?
***
It seemed like the start of a bad joke.
Saint Nicholas comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve night, but he isn’t there to bear gifts. He’s there to take out the trash.
When he lands on his silent feet, he has no other choice but to put himself in harm’s way.
One look at Caro’s terrified face, and he can’t stop himself.
He steps in just as the bullets start flying, saving the damsel in distress and taking a bullet to the shoulder for his trouble.
But one thing he can say is, heroes always win the girl.
And Caro is the best Christmas miracle of all.

I really enjoyed reading this for the 2nd time. Saint and Carolina make such a great couple. He’s such a stud. I like his calm and confident demeanor I also like how much he likes her and treats her so well. They have hot chemistry and there were such sexual tension build up for them in the beginning. It was fun to read. The plot was interesting and kept me enthralled. I can’t reveal more without it being spoilers. Good amount of action, no angst, good mystery and lots of feel good sweet moments between them.
I recommend and can see me reading this again.

We'd all be a little naughtier with this type of Saint Nick! With the final book in the KPD SWAT Generation 2.0 series, Lani Lynn Vale takes her reader on a delectable ride filled with passion, drama and intrigue. In DEPENDS ON WHO'S ASKING the secret life that Saint had in the past is revealed and takes center stage as danger lurks around every corner. There is some unbelievability peaking out on several occasions, but the core of the story is emotional and the characters are easy to connect with. I am sad to see this series end, but it's been quite a ride throughout the year!

Saint is a teddy bear. I think every reader will want to hug him when they learn his back story. He's self-assured and protective and gives off all the feels.

Caro is adorable. She is accomplished and successful in her own right, yet family is still everything to her. Watching her claim Saint was really fun.

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a tight knit cop community who has each other's backs as drama flows and love prospers. I loved this series!

Good ending to the SWAT 2.0 Generation series.

Caro & Saint’s book was rich with laughs, steam, who-dun-it? action & addicting banter, courtesy of your favorite SWAT characters & their families.

Caro… I really liked this girl. She was spicy, a go-getter & fun. I actually wished we would’ve gotten more of her doing her job because I think it absolutely kicks butt that she’s the youngest judge in Texas (and a female one at that)!

Saint… I felt for this guy. He reminded me so much of Michael with his actions (damn that pushing away crud) & his personality but I actually found him more alluring than Caro’s dad, himself. His parents… talk about killjoys. So happy that Caro & the SWAT families can help him fill that void now.

So thankful that we got the ‘white elephant’ gift exchange scene in this book. The jokes, the teasing… it gives off big OG SWAT vibes & those are the very best vibes a LLV reader can get! And that adorably swoon-worthy calendar shoot at the end… How do we nab one of those for 2021? ;)

Very hard to say goodbye to the SWAT 2.0 crew but at the same time, I’m excited to fall in love with the next new series! *one-clicks Repeat Offender (Book #1 in The Souls Chapel Revenants MC series*

Side Note: Thank gods Brielle was only in it for like 5 seconds. I want to throttle her every time she gets screen time.

Depends on Who’s Asking is the conclusion of the SWAT Generation 2.0 series by Lani Lynn Vale. Can you believe that it is already the 12th book??!!! Can you believe that all the kids we learned about through the years while reading Code-11 – KPD SWAT series are all grown up and ready for their own kids??!!! Grampa Saint anyone? Confusing, right? And can you believe that we have come to the end of the series already???!!! Really, all the kids have been accounted for? Unbelievable and actually, there are still a few that are not accounted for and we know that they will start cropping up in the other series. I absolutely love how things are connected in Lani’s universe!
Well, Depends on Who’s Asking is the story of how Caro, the daughter of the original Saint, gets her story with the Saint 2.0. I absolutely loved how Lani weaved in the ebola and quarantine into the story, I think some of us were thinking that it was hitting too close home … I love how Lani blends the different real time events seamlessly into her stories, it makes them even more relevant. The introvert Saint carries heavy secrets and he does not believe that he deserves her though he craves her as she is one of the first women in his life that are there because she likes him and not what he could give her … and Caro, our loyal and understanding strong woman that has an open mind and is willing to wait for what she wants …
These two take us on one heck of a ride and they bring the whole SWAT team along, both the original set and the current one and it is very interesting that it ends up being so as there is not really any huge drama there, originally, it is surprising how something comes just from the left field and we end up in one big clusterf … like real life, isn’t it?
I am so grateful to Lani for giving us a story a month, I live for those days and the times when I feel I need something to soothe my soul, I reach for one of her stories and sometimes it is like going down the rabbit hole and I surface realizing that it is past midnight …

5.0 out of 5 stars Caro and Saint's story is just everything.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 8, 2020
I have been anticipating Caro and Saints book wondering from the blurb and the sneak peak how on earth it was going to go. Man I just did not expect what happened, to happen. I was shook and excited when their journey started to unfold and things were revealed.

Saint from a very young age has been a loner. Surrounded by many and yet had no one for him in his corner. He missed out on the basic needs of any child. Love, affection, friendships and trust. He didn't have it and it made him wary as he grew so when he aged up he escaped the life that was suffocating him and made one for himself where he could literally reinvent who he was and do exactly what he wanted to.

Carolina's life was absolutely nothing like Saints. She grew up with love surrounded by family and friends that encouraged her independence and rooted for her happiness and drove her up the wall with their protectiveness. Despite the frustrations of overprotective family members and never really being alone Caro had everything she could ever want or need right with her family and friends. She was lucky.

Despite the unbelievable reason they are thrown together in the beginning and the big differences in their upbringing Caro and Saint just clicked. The chemistry between them is palpable from the beginning and giving the tensions are high with both the situation they found themselves in and the fact they wanted to suck face with eachother it was only a matter of time before they gave in to inevitable. Boy that build up was fun!!!. Both of them trying their damn hardest to hide their attraction had me cracked up laughing and fanning myself off from the steam of it all. I loved their interactions hard because they just seemed to work even under the most outrageous of circumstances. The connection between them is the absolute sweetest and build out of solitary confinement literally so it made sense for them to be so connected and to feel as hard as they did as quick as they did. They just worked on every level. She offered him more than he's ever had... love, a family and acceptance for being him. He gave her calm and sweet and the kind of love that makes your heart race and swoon all at once. They just made me happy.

Their journey is freaky CRAZY. Like so unexpected and completely outrageous but it works and it's fun and different and so refreshing. There isn't any huge drama between Caro and Saint. They have their moments but nothing is super blown out or over exaggerated which I loved because the story has enough surprises. They just worked together and whilst they had ALOT to work through I never feared for them that they wouldn't make it because the kind of connection they had just had me believing they are strong enough to get through it all. I love all the crazy in this book. It made for a interesting read and I found my self excited to turn the page and see what else was coming. I adore all the characters and their funny antics. You can never beat seeing old faces and reminiscing on past stories and gettting to see them now all grown with grown babies getting their very own HEA. It makes my heart happy seeing it all come full circle. Also the new faces!!! I do love getting to meet new faces and wondering where and how they'll fit into Lani's mammoth world of fictional greatness. You better believe I'll be waiting on them popping up.

Lani just never disappoints. As the last book in the series she really did a phenomenal job in wrapping up the second generation and giving them the best kind of HEA. It's crazy to me that it's the end of another series. Depends On Who's Asking brought everything and then some. It's suspenseful, climactic, unpredictable and totally outrageous. It's sweet and hilarious and hella swoony. And it's a little heartbreaking and surprising. There truly is never a dull moment. I always go through a emotional breakdown with every Lani book because she likes to throw a little of everything in her books and I'm not complaining. I love the characters and was so invested in their journey. It's seamlessly written and emotionally driven in a way that makes you feel every single thing. I just loved it.

    Now..

Now I need Lynn. Like I need him years ago...

But I am desperate now. Knowing what I know and reading that little excerpt at the end of Caro and Saints book only teased me and now I need their book. I need to know. I NEED IT. FML. Why is it over a month away.

Why does this series have to end???
Caro and Saint 🥰🥰 I love them! They are perfect for each other and I have been anticipating what their story would be like and I am not disappointed in the least on how it progressed.
I adored them both separately and together. I love how lani doesn't just give us what we want but what we need from each couple and collectively as a whole.
