    I was hoping the star-crossed lovers angle would make this a page turner, but it wasn’t. It read like a bad p0rno, 97% sex, 3% story and if the story wasn’t there it wouldn’t matter. The author tended to overuse a few words over and over, and it was noticeable because they weren’t spaced out.

    If you are looking for an actual story, this is not for you. If you are looking for some material while you work on… yourself, then you can give it a go. It just wasn’t for me.

    Spoiler Alert. I was really looking forward to Mia and Killian‘s story. But I was disappointed that half the book was dedicated to steamy sex scenes and only the other half went to develop the love between them. Was also disappointed that it seems all the mafia books are all about sadism, masochism submission, tying them up.
    I’m not judging but there are people that just like good old normal love life. Some of the language was demeaning towards and that upsets me.

    Getting a bit fed up of these books now they are all pretty much along the same lines, tough Alpha Male who is a control freak and a somewhat sexual deviant who gets off on rough BDSM sex, innocent young woman who finds she likes being tied up and used and abused by her man, that about sums up Killian and Mia's story. Their families are at war which makes their relationship harder but the major Chicago crime families have to come together to fight an overwhelming threat to them all which makes things easier.
