- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2025Clare writes good stories. Her main characters have depth and go through true emotional ups and downs as in real life.that is a compliment. I thought this might be a light read without depth but that wasn’t true (for me).
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2024Ms. Lyndon has brought me dragging and screaming into love once again with the Christmas holiday season. I could not help myself from letting my emotions over the holiday, a difficult time for me personally, get in the way. Now that I have laughed and cried at memories and situations in the story ripple through, I find I am ready for the season! Thanks Clare, you’ve now idea how wonderful this is for me. It is a really well written story with delightful characters and moments of humor and angst. I just may have to put this on my annual Christmas season read shelf!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2024This was a festive holiday romance about baker, Sara Snow, and department store executive, Beth Callaghan. They were once childhood friends and after having a romp a couple of years ago, Beth ran off to Spain. They meet again at a wedding followed by a unique reintroduction when they get stuck in a revolving door. The story that follows tells about their journey from friends to lovers to frienemies and back to friends and finally lovers again.
The story was a heartwarming slice of the holidays with added humor from the surrounding cast of characters. A true winner for Clare Lydon.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2024Sara and Beth have been friends since childhood. I have always done everything together, and when Beth left unexpectedly, it really hurt,Sara’s feelings and he felt. Betrayed. Bath came back into the picture, but there was not a lot of trust from Sara. I really like the characters and the story. It had a good plot and really cut my attention. I recommend this book for all the like a Christmas love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024Waited to read this until December and am so glad I did. In my mind all of Clare's books are good, however this was perfect for Christmas and that makes it better than the rest 😉🧑🎄💏🌲

5.0 out of 5 stars Sara & Beth
Another snowy, seasonal spectacular from the very talented pen of Clare Lydon, ‘Don’t Marry Me At Christmas’ is a veritable cracker of a story featuring as the MCs Sara & Beth, friends since childhood who somehow wait nearly 30 years before ‘sleeping’ together, after which Beth immediately flees. When they reunite a couple of years later Beth realises she has a lot of making up to do, and Sara has to overcome understandable trust issues about letting Beth back into her life. Can these long time friends reconcile their differences to become what they always should have been, each other’s forever person?
Clare’s Christmas books never disappoint & this one is full to the brim with her trademark style: humour, amazing metaphors, attractive MCs with just enough angst and spice between them, a strong supporting cast, and as it’s a Christmas story, even though it’s set mostly in southern England, there’s lots of snow, snow for days on end, and even when the story moves to Spain there’s still more snow! Can’t complain about how unlikely that is though, it is a work of fiction after all, and a wonderfully entertaining and enjoyable novel that keeps Clare’s place securely still in the top 3 of my favourite British sapphic romance authors.

4.0 out of 5 stars I loved it
The Queen of Sapphic Christmas has done it again. If you’re looking for a lovely Hallmark - esque Christmas Sapphic romance that features the large store executive and the small town business woman just trying to make it then look no further.
This book is another Christmas hit! I love that it’s almost all set in the city and we really get to see London showcased.
Beth is the large store exec - newly returned to London and having to deal with her own painful past. Sara is the small town baker just trying to make a go of it but has fallen on hard times.
Sparks fly when Beth and Sara meet - but not of the love struck friendly variety.
This book made me laugh and cry and really crave a Christmas cupcake.
If I ever get to visit London I definitely hope to visit at Christmas to take in the Christmas Market and the Winter Wonderland which Clare Lydon has so beautifully described.
If this book doesn’t put you in the Christmas spirit, maybe nothing will.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the read
It’s a good and easy read. You will find yourself losing a bit of sleep over it to find out what’s happening in the next chapter. It’s was fun to see the evolution in the main characters and get a few baking idea in the process.
