    This book tells about Giddi, a mage that is grown in the previous series. Giddi faces many challenges: he is very powerful, but still with limited control and finds out dragons can communicate with him. He is the only one in centuries to be able to do this. His trainer who was s student of Giddi's father is very jealous of the young mage and has plans to get rid of him. Giddi faces death many times in this book and somehow survives. His trainer is very self serving, scheming to rule the mage council and soon, he doesn't want to wait. If you read the first series and liked Giddi, you will really enjoy this story about his youth and all he faces. Lot's of action and adventure and of course dragons. You also learn more about Anakisha, the new queen dragon's rider and the king dragons rider. Eileen has done it again, another great dragon adventure. If you like dragons I highly recommend that you get this and read it now. This is the second book in the series, so read the first one, Anakisha's Dragon and then this. Happy flying.

    In the second volume of Dragon Realm's history, we learn more about the king and queen of dragons riders as well as more about other dragons and various mages.
    We see self doubts limit the successes of individuals. We read the consequences of mistreatment and of insufficient self control .
    If you have enjoyed the novels and shorter stores available to date then you should definitely enjoy the stories told here.

    An action packed story. But also a very conventional story. There are 2 and somettimes 3 storylines. It was a bit frustrating that one storyline was full of action while the other was very romantic. Switching by chapter did not work very well for me. Therefore I read one storyline and then the other.

    I absolutely loved this next book in the series! I read Anakisha’s Dragon and a couple of others of Eileen’s books last year and regret that I left it so long to read more!
    I just love Eileen’s world building and her characters are sublime. Her passion for dragons really shines through in her writing too.
    Giddi is one of my favourite characters of hers, and I loved learning more about him and seeing him flourish and grow. As I’m sure we’re supposed to, I really despise Starrus for the way he treats Giddi and I was glad to see him get his comeuppance! I hope he suffers for the rest of his life, and I’m not normally a grudge holder!
    I love that we met some new dragons and riders in this book too and look forward to reading more about them and their journeys, as well as The Scarlet Hand in Dragon Pirate!
