About the author

Lisa has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and spent several years teaching biologists how to access DNA data for their own research.
Now she is committed to making the science of DNA and genetics accessible to a younger audience. DNA will be a huge part of their future careers and she wants to help prepare your children for the job opportunities that will await them.
She lives in South West England with her husband and two children. When she is not engrossed in the next Dinky Amigos escapade, her favourite things include spending time with friends and family, cake and cats (not always in that order!).

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2019Although this novel is supposed to be for 9 to 12-year-olds, it's informative for all ages. The illustrations are wonderful, and the way the author explains DNA, genetics, and cystic fibrosis is refreshingly original.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2022This book does a great job of explaining DNA and the inner workings of cells on a level that children can gain an appreciation for them. It uses characters and humor to bring out the concepts, and builds up to explaining what cystic fibrosis is and what causes it. A great resource for home or classroom use!
